What:eek:.......we have 2 suitcases and pay for extra cases!!!!we haven't paid for an extra case on this trip so I will be making sure OH only packs half a case!!!!!!:rotfl:0 -
Need one of you nice peeps to put me mind at rest please.
We've done our ESTA's, dusted off the suitcases, got the money sorted, but Thomas Cook are peeing us off. We can't book seats next to each other in advance, and we can't seem to book an extra case.
There is a form on their website called the 'API'. DH phoned them about it, but they said to do it online. Trouble is, it doesn't work, we've told them it doesn't work a couple of times, yet every time we tell them, they tell us to keep trying, and it still won't work.
Yesterday, DH tried again, same result, so he called them. The bloke told us to phone Expedia, as we booked through them. We've done that - they told us to phone TC. So, the fella on the phone has told us to ring the Embassy and do it that way.
Is that right? Surely TC should make sure their system works. Anyway, I'm getting a bit panicked. Our ESTA's are ok, but is this 'API' thing essential? We are setting off in 15 days, we just want everything sorted. Any advice would be appreciated.
One thing is for sure, we will never be bothering with TC again.

dontone- that really sucks, and with your trip soo close!
you know why its not working> i asusme you need to log onto a thomas cook website and fill it in that way. could it be your browser?
if possiable, can you head down to a thomas cook shop?
when we went to vegas on our first trip we used thomas cook(being in scotland it was a direct flight from glasgow) i recall us needing to do the api, we took our passports down to the shop and one of the girls in the work did it for us.
good luck and hope this helps0 -

hiya. Tried another browser and it didn't work. I think that I'll try the shop route. Sick of being fobbed off by the 'helpline' They keep insisting that it has to be done online, it just feels like they are fobbing us off all the time.

We are going to Vegas for Christmas and are planning what to do and see. Everyone talks about vouchers and deals - I am a novice so please could some explain what sort of deals we can get in advance.

dontone we are also going with Thomas Cook and a couple of weeks ago booked and paid for 2seats together. We did it online and I have to say it took us ages.I know it sounds stupid but type in thomas Cook book seats on safari and it take you to an app...condor I think...and then put your booking detail in and the seat map should come up.I know we couldn't get the seats to load with our details but it worked in the end and extra cases in on there too.Hope this helps ...they are always having trouble with their online booking.I have actually been on it today because OH didn't think we had a meal onboard (we do) but all the options were there for changing seats, extra cases ect.0

hiya Hovis. I have to go to Town anyway so gonna pop into the TC shop, but if that fails, I'll be bearing your tip in mind. Thanks very much
BTW, it doesn't sound stupid at all, what you have suggested. It's a lot better advice that what the 'helpline' have given us. I'm sure they make stuff up, certainly has felt like it.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

hi
and this is what the site/thread is for saving money after all!
as with myvegas there is something called total rewards(its for cesears palace and a few other hotels, i dont know much about total rewards though)
As for deals- i think alot of people look around different sites flights/hotels and look for deals there there are quite a few links on the front page, though having booked up yourself im unsure how useful they will be for you.
there is a site i ve been recommened called travelzoo, they sometimes haves deals on shows and what not worth a look prehaps?
Is it your first time in vegas?
If you are staying in an mgm property you can sign up for the Mlife card(which you give to the dealer, put into a slot machine) and the gambiling you do will be monitored and somtiems you can get deals /promotions from Mlife( always stick to a gambling budget)
There are a few tix4tonight booths which offer discounted show tickets for same day/night and always worth a look
hope this helps a tad.anymore questions feel free to ask and someone will hoepfully help0 -

Just back from Vegas - used 3 MyVegas deals - $50 freeplay to use at our hotel Luxor (made it to $60 in real money to take out LOL)
$75 against a bill of $150 at Tender steakhouse (believe me you won't find it difficult to get to $150 in there)
and a free evening buffet at More Luxor - we both played the game so had one each a saving of $48.
Enjoy when you get there.0 -

We used TC for our flights to Vegas last week - no complaints about the flights but the website IMO is a total nightmare to use.
Ended up taking pot luck at the airport with the seats.
By the way anybody else on flight TC/MT 124 on 15th May when pilot drove the plane into the staircase and pranged the engine to such an extent they could not open the door to let us off?
Just wandered what the extent of the damage was - we defo had a different plane on way home as toilets were downstairs.0
