Don't normally post anything on here while we are in Vegas.

But just been to Ellis Island, and had the $7.99 steak special for dinner.
All I can say is "ridiculous"....how they can do a salad/soup and a steak as thick as one the one just had by my wife, and myself, for just $7.99 is ridiculous.

I don't know if we just got lucky or what, but the soup was one of the nicest soups I've tasted in a long time, and the steaks were at least 2 inches thick, and tasted lovely. As I say, maybe we just lucked out,and caught it on a good day....we had a daily special on our last trip, and it was awful....but this was the best value for money we have ever had in Vegas.
Can't believe the bill was less than the price of the 2 sandwiches we had at greenbergs deli in nyny the day before.....very nice Reuben sandwich there by the way.

Think we may have to change plans to make another visit to Ellis island and see if it was a one off,or whether it's always like that.

    Another convert ;)

we go to Ellis island at least once a trip,

Their steak breakfast special is fantastic..think its $5.99

Havent had the evening steak special for a while as we prefer the BBQ

Because I had many problems with Groupon last year(got OH and my debit cards blocked ) decided to go with Travelzoo for some deals.Just purchased Spice Market Dinner Buffet (OH favourite) for 2 with unlimited drinks for 2 including wine, beer or bubbly for just £34.

Do you still have to do something with the players club (play through a certain amount?) to have access to some of the Ellis Island restaurant deals?

    hi
and thanks for that , I had a look and you are correct!

In regards demanding free stuff i can understand how annoying it would be for the staff n what not and people expecting it.

I was going to try get my resort fees comped and maybe try for a comp buffet or 2 though asking nicely but never demanding though!

hope you guys and gals dont mind a couple more questions

the freemont street experince- im sure people have done this, what have your experinces been like?i take it it is free but some things may cost, anything you would reccomend doing./seeing that area? best way to get there- the deuce bus prehaps?

In doing some planning( I am a bit of a planner type person:D) in noticed the mob muesum is pretty close to the Freemont experince. anyone done the mob muesum? would you reccomend it?

    thanks again!

Mob museum was really interesting - took longer than we thought, we were in there for about 3 hours.

I would be very surprised if most people on here didn't get the US Travelzoo top 20 email, but just in case you don't, the above seems an excellent 1 way price from Vegas to Burbank - 2 bags included and large looking leather seats

You just need to have a card to get the $9.99 coupon for steak special or reduced bbq. Play $5 through your account to get the $7.99 price for the steak special. The waiters usually have the $9.99 coupons, but you definitely need to get your own for the extra discount.

Has anyone dined in Prime at the Bellagio? And if so, what are the chances of securing a fountain view when making a booking?

We fly with Virgin who only have two flights from Manchester. It's never crossed my mind to be honest - would be upset if the flight there was cancelled but if we ended up 'stuck' in Vegas for a few extra days I think we'd cope ;)

It's more the worry of getting stuck on the way out.

I'm just back from Chicago and my total delay was 18 hours on the way out,it can happen with any airline.

    Thanks
once you add on baggage, meal and seat reservation its an extra £100.

I wouldnt want to go to Vegas with just hand luggage

I've done Vegas with hand luggage the last couple of trips, I pack fairly light anyway so suits me quite well.
