We all have our moments that we aren't proud of I'm sure, things that could have gone better. But texting a conversation is usually a more controlled response..

I will gather up all my will and insist on respect.. people don't have to like your decisions, but those close to you should respect your role.. The problem with that is only you know your circumstances...

I would (and have) cut my losses with people close... but that's only what I would do... my daughter had a fight with us when her baby was one year old.... those 2 weeks were the hardest days when relating to the little one... however my sister fell out with us when my dad died 10 years ago. We haven't healed the rift. (Please don't fall out with your daughter over my comments)

Like greent, I didn't want to read and not comment. I think you are an exceptional talented lady. You are a pretty tough cookie too. You have your own ambitions and goals which you are consistently working to fulfil. I for one, am rooting for you.

Oh my. Yes, your OH has taught your daughter to bully you. Sadly, Sue, if you accept that sort of insult from someone, they keep doing it.

"Dont talk that way to me" comes to mind :(

Hi Sue, same for me, not much to add, except that if it was me, think I would reply with something like -

Let DD contact you first, that way you may get a couple of days peace :) When asked if coming over - then, reply would be something like - Not sure if the car will be fixed on time, and so, if you want an answer right now, lets just cancel, that way it gives you plenty time to make other arrangements. (That way - you're the one making the decision/in control) :)

As for grocery shopping - as you say if 10 bananas are there, they'll be eaten, not sure if you shop weekly, or do as you are thinking, buy less :D (that made me laugh) and as there was a little mistake on the headache tablets, then you are only, (did I say only??) spending approx £50 over the £300 mark :o

It's really hard to giver advice, but we're here to offer support - so as they say, be strong, and start making small but positive decisions - don't be railroaded into feeling you're doing wrong.

    It's time for "me time".

:rotfl:just read my first line again - that's me not got much to add:rotfl: :o

My husband once told me that when he was a child his father used to go in sulks for a whole week where he wouldn't speak to my mother-in-law at all...not a single word. :undecided

I just can't imagine what that must be like. :(
