Spent £111.76 on an online shop yesterday which will be delivered this morning. It's higher than I would have liked but I couldn't see where else to reduce it. I did buy laundry products so won't need those on the next shop which will reduce the bill but, unless I can chip away at it I won't come in under budget for the month.2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000

DH has requested I buy him some SW RM from the land of ice as he is struggling to get back on plan following Christmas. If I don't make his lunch he either doesn't have any or buys something off plan which not only ruins his diet but my budget as well. haven't got the time to batch cook and prep a lot at the minute with working away and the house sale/viewings due so I am OK with doing this for a week or two to get him back on track. Though expensive they work out cheaper than the rubbish sarnies he buys at work.
I need to make a loaf of GF bread for me, will freeze half. Will do that today as I am working from home and also do a meal plan. We have been using up the freezer contents so there has been some more calorific items being consumed which wont have helped DH either.
Will report back my spends when I have been for the mealsSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

HM Chicken Tikka Kebabs and Chips for dinner tonight, with HM Banana Cake for pudding:)
Cottage Pie in slow cooker for tomorrows dinner. Feeling very organised this week and on target for week 2 of 4.
Will probably bulk buy meat next week so might be an expensive one...November NSD's - 70 -
£13.10 spent today on food for the rest of this week plus some reduced bits for the freezer.
Meals this week are - Tuna crunch (over 2 nights, this is night 2), pasta bake (over 2 nights), HM Quiche, soup.
£13.90 left to spend in current budget before end of the month. Should be do-able as long as I stay sensible. Nice pizza in freezer for the weekend so I can have that if the takeaway temptation arrives:).0 -
Had to buy milk yesterday - little one has suddenly decided she likes it!
Also had to buy meat at the weekend. Got just a couple of pounds now until pay day on the 25th! Fiance's brother and his gf are due for a meal on the 23rd but as he is so fussy (even worse that OH!) I think I will get OH to order in for that and leave that from his budget as it's his fussy brother!************************************

My son (13) has been poorly since Friday with a really bad cold and sore throat so I had to go out and top up on cold things (all he can eat/drink) at the moment and medicines. Spent £32 including some extra pillows on offer to make him more comfortable - after having a huge clear out we have no spares at all so they will be very useful when we have guests (at least they were cheap). I haven't taken part in a grocery challenge for a very long time - it is very scary how much we have been spending! Looking forward to having a figure I can start whittling down at the end of January. I am wondering if it will be easier for us to have a weekly budget and a second purse for leftover money to go into (for bulk buys)? xGC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100

NSD no 5 of the month today. Off to check out the cookie recipe.
Hubby forgot to bring yeast home from work for our pizza's tonight but luckily I've found a recipe that doesn't use yeast.Grocery Challenge 2024
