    Evening all

Great to see so many peoples managing to eke out the pennies and stick with the meal planning.

We had another NSD here today. I made HM cheese and onion quiche, with HM coleslaw, salad and refried pots for DH. One portion left for lunch the morrow ;)

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday

Haven't managed to post for a few days.

Fri 8th £3.30 in aldi on their super six veg
    Sun 10th tesco delivery £39.54
Second purse (debit) £8 (sausages and Quorn sausages)

    Total £50.84

Shouldn't need to spend any more on food until the weekend.

Having a think about whether I get veg box next month - not convinced it is good value looking at what we got last night.
    Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 600
  • Just spent £2.60 on a doz eggs
Hopefully won't need to shop again till Friday

Having been MORTIFIED at my Christmas spends, I have been using up what wasn't eaten, have a freezer full of stock and food created from leftovers. So I don't feel so bad - although I know I can now definitely get away with buying less next year. I've done a couple of little shops (bread, milk, eggs mainly), and I'm doing to swing by Mr T tonight to see if I can pick up any YS. It's usually such a scrap over everything though - the vultures start circling about 10 minutes before everything comes out - and it makes me feel really anxious and uncomfortable. Hopefully I'll have timed it right so that they've taken what they want and I can buy the leftover fish (never seems to sell much near me) and cooked meats for sandwiches. Fingers crossed! And on the plus side, I'm way under this month's budget, so maybe it all balances out over the year...

£4.50 in Mr T on shampoo, conditioner and milk and £18 in the land of ice on 6 RM and 16 free yogurts:eek::j They are the muller greek style fat free ones and you get 8 free for every 3 meals bought.

I have £68.30 left to last 16 days including 2 weekends when I normally shop. I set a low budget this month as a bit of a challenge and it is getting very tight. I need to do a meal plan to use up the stores but also try and keep DH on plan, looks like it might end up being 2 different meals each night.

Are the SW meals still 2 for £5?

  • Just checking in. So far have spent £37 on eating out/coffees/lunch, ans £9 on actual food shopping. I'm edging towards my normal 'eating out' monthly spend (averaged £64pm in 2015) so I'm planning on nipping this in the bud. Food shopping has been low as my partner did a top up shop and we are well stocked from Christmas still. I am hoping to keep this figure low. So far £46 spent, still way under my £173pm for food and eating out in 2015. If only my other areas of spending were this slim!!

they weren't on offer in my local Iceland when I called in on Monday - just the 2 free packs of yogurts for every 3 items you buy from the range

Evening :) Just popping in to report a £1.65 spend on some packed lunch bits and pieces to supplement the homemade items I'm now taking. I've some chicken stock to turn into soup (no idea what kind and I don't have much cooking inclination tonight), and loads of tins in the cupboard. I shall have a think!

    Have a lovely evening.

Spent £5 on 2 whole chickens 1.7 kgs each and £3 on a bag 2.5 kgs of diced chicken thigh meat today. Never brought pre- boned and diced chicken thigh meat before so have no idea of the price however it seemed like a good deal. (can someone let me know if it was or not)Will be portioning it up tomorrow and then it will have to go in Mums freezer as no room in ours.
Will need some fresh stuff tomorrow and MUST remember milk as we are getting low.
Some nice meal plans being posted.
Lamb cooked with mixed peppers, onions and mushrooms in a nice rosemary flavoured gravy tonight with a small jkt potato. Smelling lovely so far.
