Did a Sainsburys shop yesterday, which should (with the help of my vacuum sealer) last for eight days. It came to £61.58, which brings my total up to £136.30.

Providing I don't spend anymore I will come in under budget for the week and on track to come in well below my January budgeted amount:j

    Afternoon Diary,

Just adding my small top up from today:

    Spent
    £80 - 5th Jan - Mr T (£79.75 + 25p OP to CC)
    £7 - 6th Jan - Mr A
    £9.40 - 9th Jan - local butchers
    £4.49 - 9th Jan - Mr T's
    £8.98 - 10th Jan - Mr T's

    Budgeted for next 3 weeks
    £60 - 12th Jan - Mr T or Mr A (incl DD2s birthday party food)
    £45 - 19th Jan - Mr T or Mr A
    £50 - 26th Jan - Mr T or Mr A
£25 - butchers and farmshop as and when
    £10 - Top ups

I have taken some from the butchers to add to my top ups as I always need a few fresh things at the weekend. Im hoping that my shopping will come under budget this week so I can add in a bit more to top ups but need to add DD's birthday cake in yet so will see!

Familyhistoryresearcher, 55p for a fillet steak  wish I found bargains like this ha!!!

    Happy Sunday all xx

  • I love the sound of pie-tatos! Will def. be doing these for the novelty factor soon. DS used to love jacket spuds, to the point where he was asking for those and the salad bar at school for a hot lunch once a week with his other meal choices! Then all of a sudden in November he stopped choosing them and stopped eating the skins at home...then started picking at the middles and said he'd just stopped liking them (luckily he still likes mash, new pots, roasties and wedges or he'd be hungry here some nights! Really hope this will get us back in the swing of them. :)
    Love this site!

Shopping at Aldi and Asda yesterday, £48.40 spent. I'm going to have a freezer sort out and try and use some of the stuff in there - it's so crammed at the moment I tend not to go to it as it's such a faff to try and find anything!:o

£31.20 at Al*i so now on £183.41, will not be buying anything else for some time!
  • Did some shopping at Al#i and b and m. Think I'm doing ok but spent nearly £60 this week although did buy some shampoo that will last for about 4 months with the whole family using it. Think I'm doing quite well but eating out of the freezer again this week. Lunches going well too.hope I'm under budget this month.
    GC = £150.58/£250
  • £48.42 spent over the course of Thursday and Friday which, looking back on it, was completely unnecessary. Spent £17.95 on a takeaway on Thursday and then bought odds and sods of "nibbly bits" from Mr. T because I didn't fancy what we had in... Doesn't tip the scales for our budget but it would have better to have not spent that money. :(

On the plus side, 2 NSDs this weekend and a complete stock take and meal plan have been done. Other than a few bits of fresh food, we really don't need much at all this week.

Fingers crossed for 6 consecutive NSDs! :)
