Quick post, sorry I've been AWOL again; we've had pc issues, which Mr LW is leaving me to sort, on the basis of he's on his bum in front of his work laptop all day, and doesn't want to do "work" on the pc when he gets in.

On a good note, we had info leaflets through the door from our favourite plumber/electrician/gas type bod. This is good, because we tried to contact him earlier in the year and were unsuccessful - an internet search of local news revealed he'd been in a horrendous road traffic accident.:( But it looks like he's up and running again now, which is great, as I don't really want a stranger in to service the boiler.:o

Dotty's gone home; I've thrown a duster round the whole bungalow; Patch will be here tomorrow.

CY great news re phased return to work - do make sure to pace yourself.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Just back in, after work I had to walk down to the post office and trawl round every shop in our town. Who knew stress balls were so hard to come by or would cause me so much stress. Ended up with a mini soft toy football as that was all I could find and I need it for a secret Santa on Thursday. Did my good deed on way back. I spotted a little tot about two of three running along in front of me in the dark, thinking his parents were ahead as he turned the corner towards the railway bridge (which has an unmanned station so leads down to the tracks both sides) no one else was about apart from a lady I knew for years ago walking opposite way. I shouted to her to stop the lad going on the bridge and ran along the road he'd come from, spotting a house with an open front door I shouted in had they lost a little boy as he was on the bridge, when his sister finally came out she said he kept getting out as they forgot to lock the front door. It was a terrace that opens directly onto the road, it was dark, he was in just a nappy and heading for the railway line. The lady I'd left watching him was really bothered as she said he quite happily held her hand when she said should they go and find mummy, she was more worried about what could have happened if it had been someone dodgy instead of us. I told her not to even go there we were just lucky we got him back without incident.

Need to catch up with flying and do some wrapping tonight.

Hope the poorlies feel better soon.

Brill news CY I'm so pleased for you

Saw a flying carpet this morning and went up and down so many stairs this afternoon that I lost count. Trying for damage limitation before our next SW date.

Keep up the good work all x

Felt a black dog in the passenger seat as I drove to zumba; my own fault for giving in to temptation and eating something with wheat in it this weekend (no excuses as the staff were really helpful with menus). Luckily it couldn't keep up with zumba so hopefully it has bu**ered off.
Student cancelled today so I have managed to:
    - post a load of cards
    - finish a report
    - print off other paperwork
    - empty case from w/e away and put everything away or in the wash. Few things now in a heap for charity shop.
    - had an email from The Big Give to say there is still some funding to be had, so got 5 'presents' for family where my donation is doubled plus gift aid. I was really chuffed as the main 'double funding' was at the weekend so I thought I'd missed it.

Head down for a bit more work, and really should write a list of 'must do' for this week.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Bit more Christmas prep done and have got secret Santa gift now...still wrote no cards lol
Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T

Sending Whiz my Whippet to you carrying a stick - the black dog has to chase Whiz to get to the stick and, believe you me, my Whiz is fast so he'll be gone ages. Take care x

    Evening all :hello:

That's fantastic news CY but make sure you take it steadily eh

Hope you managed to get the techie stuff sorted LW

Well done Mrs MP. Though it does make you wonder doesn't it ?

HB - sorry to hear about the second attack on poor Kelpie. Have you thought about carrying pepper spray or a really bright flash-light you can shine in the attackers eyes ? I know it shouldn't be necessary but if you retaliate a couple of times maybe the other dog will get the message ;)

Sending more gw vibes for all the poorlies

Oh dear - I'm getting a bit behind with the listies this week :o

Did usual S & S today and a few bits. Rest of the day I did accounts and juggled monies around in the bank accounts. I also cleared all the old emails from my account, filing some as needed. Did two Spanish lessons as been a bit lax of late.

Wrote myself a note on the calendar to get the car insurance last day of the month, to look at renewing the house contents insurance and made dental appointment for next week.

I have written all the cards that need posting and parcelled up a Secret Santa ready to visit the PO the morrow, as I'm in town to have the hair shortened.

Still have to write and post the cards I deliver by hand and one birthday card to buy. I also need to get a form from the bank and have another look at the new Nationwide regular savings account.

And if that doesn't work, I'll tell my three huffing great Ridgebacks to chase it off. Not as fast as Whiz but boy, have they got stamina. Be gone, BD and leave the flyladies alone!

And after that were off to lend Kelpie a helping hand Honey Bear. What sort of mutt is it that's causing trouble? I can't stand irresponsible dog owners. Often it's the handler rather than the dog who needs training (she says, hanging her head in shame after boy pup plucked the tail feathers off one of the chickens this weekend :embarasse )

No real flying done since I last posted but I really must try harder tomorrow...
