Have you actually looked at the manual? You have obviously not read it!
There is NO Manual with this router!!
Just the so**ing 'wizard' Disk!!!!
But you haven't, it said using Ethernet cable, not USB.
The modem has an Ethernet cable AND a USB one...

I have tried this, and it mucked up my internet connection again.
It was supposed to (get rid of your previous connections as a stepping stone towards sorting it out). Then when I shut down & restarted the PC there was no internet because I had unplugged the USB cable from the modem.
there won't be until you have run the Network Setup Wizard as I said in my post.
If you keep plugging in your modem direct to the PC by USB you'll be going back to square one again and just keep going round in circles.
You need to get the PC, the router and the modem all connected VIA ETHERNET ONLY and talking to each other on the same network.
Having done that, you'll then be able to go in and configure the router.

I did run the wizard like you said, but it was asking me questions I don't know about, and didn't want to risk messing up my whole PC.
If I knew which options to click, and that it wouldn't ruin my PC then I would do it.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

Thanks Toxteth, this seems to have worked!
I have it connected correctly via the ethernet cables, and the USB is not in the modem any more...and the internet is working!!!!
Yayyyyyyyyyyy!!
Now my next step is to get my other PC to connect to the network. PC2 is 'seeing' the 'Netgear connection', but how do I get it to actually connect to it?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
