Yes, no reason why not. But you might want to check who they want it made payable to. It's very cute to get cheques with Mr and Mrs but a pain if they don't have a joint account or haven't yet/aren't changing surnames.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I agree with peachy (or just make it out to the groom but explicitly state it's for both).0

I did this once, travelled from Ireland to Nottingham for the wedding and realised just as I was walking into the reception that I had forgotten the card back at home. As soon I got home, I sent the card with a cheque inside, made payable to the bride in her maiden name (she was my cousin). She didnt get it til she came home from honeymoon a fortnight later, but was delighted as it seemed like a wee bonus

It is rarely better to send vouchers (unless they have been explicitly asked for)2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I personally don't send or like receiving cheques. We do most things online now and it means a special trip to the bank - when you work full time this is a real inconvenience. How about a bank transfer xNever again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

Yes but it's better than a bank transfer 'congratulations' in the bank reference box or cash that royal mail posties help themselves to at this time of year (just had a parcel go missing which landed in this country and the thieving postie supposed to gave returned it to the depot...its not there even though he said he did ). Sorry for the rant. Cheque is fine.0

I agree. The chances of me actually making a special trip to pay a cheque in is remote. It would have to be for some serious amount to make it worth the hassle.0 -

Can't think of anything less thoughtful than bank transfer except paypal :wall:0 -

Do you not like venturing out into the real world, breathing fresh air and having a pleasant but vacuous natter with the counter lady? Do you put other cheques in the bin such as road tax refund, gift cheques, compensation / complaint cheque etc0
