    Evening,
Well done ElizaD, level 3 on your first week!

Had a lovely day with my visitors today, took them down the Quayside in Newcastle and went to the Baltic Gallery as my Mum wanted to see the Beryl Cook exhibition.

I did a fair bit in the kitchen this morning and finished all I'm doing this evening. I've decided it's the next room that needs re-decorating so I started stripping the worst of the paper off (think several layers and all thick with emulsion..) and went round with Stanley the knife scratching old paint off sockets and light switches. Committed to it now so that's my 'extra' for the week every evening, getting prepped. Not looking forward to repapering but given how long it took to complete the bathroom it'll probably be October.

Back tomorrow to tackle the livingroom and my several hotspots that are forming..

Oh Michelle how awful, sorry to have to say it but even though yours has been damaged it does sound like you have been lucky.

Thanks for the library reminder, need to go there myself! I also need to remember to put some rubble sacks (not see through and empty of course) next to the door, Argos delivery coming which includes some Xmas presents for the boys and don't want them seeing them.

DP on phone to 3 trying to complain about phone never having any signal, but guess what, it's gone off twice already when he's been trying to phone! Useless thing.

I've done all the washing up and now because the benches and dining table is clear DP has took over them with RC stuff, typical! However he's been told it all best get moved as soon as it's done.

Eliza D well done on your first day :) done better than I did on mine :)

Must do a to do list and a to take list for BBQ tomorrow, Jarrow is about 20 odd miles from us and don't want to have to come back, especially when it's costing us twice to get there because of all the stuff.
One day I might be more organised...........

Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front

    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
    - it's not!
    Extra Mission:
    Choose one or more of:
    • Clean inside of fridge
    • Clean inside of microwave
    • Sort any one kitchen/dining room storage area, drawer, cupboard or a shelf
    rubbish out
recycling out - in a box ready to go out tomorrow
straighten rug in lounge - oh did it
ask friend if can borrow carpet cleaner
    strip spare bed
    dry washing away
    water & spray plants
finish putting wedding stuff in boxes

    check finances
pay off more of M&S card.
finish practice dyeing shoes (first attempt not dark enough) - they have gone patchy in places but i think its where they were a bit scuffed, they are satin ones my mum got off freecycle to practice with. my bridesmaids are wearing chocolate brown and the lady in the shop advised us it was easy to dye them ourselves rather than pay £20 a pair (especially with 4 bridesmaids!)

lil-me i know. More the 'pita' factor as it is a week to going back to work, and if it had been pinched it is the car seat, and i have got into the bad habit of keeping the buggy in the boot so it doesn't get a faded cover from standing in the porch. - sounds like the little vandal factor rather than hardened criminals, but scary that we slept through all that. The strange thing is that the night before DH discovered it i had a dream where my car was stolen by kids, and as they drove off they managed to turn it on the roof and hit several other cars down the street. So realistic that i could see kids in school uniform in the upside down car and had names for them and everything - really freaky. Good luck with the BBQ tomorrow. Hopefully you get nice weather.

suppose i had best get on with a few more jobs at least as i will regret it otherwise tomorrow.

  • Michelle glad that they did not manage to get into your car, hope it does not cost too much to fix the lock. won't be fixing it as it still works, can't afford to do it myself both in terms of cost and time the car would be away from me at the minute, and we have a stupid XS on the insurance so it isn't breaking the bank, so i won't be claiming as renewal is due in november and i also wouldn't want to lose my 4 years no claims

Is it like strawberries/rasberries - freeze them spreadout on a tray not touching each other, then transfer to a bag/tupperware once frozen - mainly to stop the soft fruit from squishing - just a guess

Or in icecube trays. That is the only way I can think of.

Michelle wait until your brother gets some training and get him to fit you a new lock :D They are pretty straight forward usually, if you're going to pay try a bodyshop/garage and see what they would charge CASH, I can guess that it'd be less than your excess and the addition to your insurance premium.

Just noticed my washer drawer is still in the sink, best go deal with that :o forgot

  • Sorry for back to back posting - would normally do my list in the morning, but probably wont be on till tomorrow night if i have any idea what is good for me.

I've decided to come home while Charlie is at nursery and alternate 15 min of flying with 15 min of housework for the 4 hours i would have. Should be able to get loads done, and hopefully it will improve my focus on my work as at the minute i sit there and do very little, as it is easier than truly getting stuck in, but unless i want to be up every night till midnight working when i go back, i had best get going with it.

Anyway, that is my plan, so if i am see here between 12 and 6, then please kick me hard and make me pull my socks up.
