I'll warn you Siouxsie, it's quite long, but slightly addictive reading too. However, if I had to estimate, I'd say my 2015 fleabay earnings were boosted by about a third due to inspiration from this thread, so might be useful to some here :)

Urgh! Just check my interest rates for various savings pots and they are (quite frankly) pants!
Sure they had much better rates when I opened them over the years but they've clearly dropped and no notification.
Have a look at Martin's best bank and savings accounts.

Put as much as you can in a high interest current account and then 'drip-feed' it into the highest paying savings account you can afford. That seems to be the way he suggests doing it.

Remember that you don't have to leave money in an account once you have paid it in. So if you open a couple of accounts that both need a regular monthly pay-in you can pay it into one account and then pay it from that account to the other one.

Good luck and pm me if you need to :D

yep am fed up with trying to tell friends about ways to make money. Only Xanders' Mum understands lol, being a fellow mser. I do have one friend who joined the facebook group but again hard work trying to get her to do anything that would help her out financially too.

so pull up a pew/cushion/poofee/sofa/deckchair your choice of seat and join in with us mad people who actually want a better life not relying on it to drop out of the sky.

I think lynnejk is a prime example of making it work.

and you will overpay that mortgage!:money:
Thanks for the vote of confidence Aesop but I think lots of it is down to you and your motivation.

You really are an inspiration and model for us all, added to which you are so willing to help us all the time with your words of wisdom and places where we can make those extra pennies - which add up to £££s

Me and OH arent on brilliant wages but we are now comfortable and the most financially secure we have ever been but there is always room for improvement and I have always been keen on something for nothing....or a bargain. Don't think that will ever change.:D
That's exactly the same as here.

I really don't understand why people are so willing to part with their cash. It really isn't that difficult to cut costs here and there and keep your money for yourselves is it ??

and I managed to make my challenge of making £2015 in 2015. I made more than my signature but I missed out a few months so not sure of figure. This was additional to my scarce MS income as my main job.

I have my mac back! :j oh, my precious baby markmark I missed you so much

Got an email re: a follow up to a prolific survey I took a while back on fire safety. I agreed to provide my story and they've put a £10 cheque in the post. I might have to do media stuff in January which I'll also be paid for.
    Glad markmark back home safely.

Good news on the prolific stuff :T
