    #157 declaring for February.

    Had quite a good month!
Saved £750 from wages, £150 from my First Direct switch and £100 from my Halifax switch. So thats £1000 into my TSB Classic Account.

Then sold one of my cars to a friend for £700, so thats £300 into my FD Reg Saver and £400 split between mine and my girlfriends Help to Buy ISAs.

So £1700 total for the month. Very happy with that.

Noticed the other day after closing my Lloyds accounts for switching that I have £800 in an old eSaver that I cant take out online now so next months plan is to go to a branch and get that cash out and add that onto next months save. As well as the £100 my girlfriend owes me!

  • Had a surprise PPI pay out and so have put 3000 in the ISA account(plus the normal 200), was a total shock and I urge everyone to apply, I thought I had 0 chance!

    Nevertheless she persisted.

Afternoon all, great to read all the updates! My February was fairly sedate with no big expenses, so I managed to save more than I was expecting, at £1k. I'm (pleasantly!) surprised at this, as I have separately made an overpayment on my mortgage too.

I had a number of expensive months in the second half of 2015, so its good to be back to MSE ways. I gave my spending an "audit" at Christmas to trim back where possible and it has definitely helped. All the small changes accumulate into something a bit more substantial :)

Have only managed to declare £253.66 for February. Have booked and paid for 2 holidays for this year so hopefully the savings train can go full steam ahead for March onwards, got a bit of catching up to do!

Could you check mine please as it isn't on there, it's post on 625 although I did do a form too :)
  • No 34 reporting just £50 for Feb. Not as much as I would like as I've had some expenses including buying a new pair of vari-focal glasses - expensive

  • Much better saving month this February. Managed a few nights out and still saved £825, bringing the total up to £966. Makes you think this savings business isn't that hard! Still a long way to go yet and I'm yet to book the yearly holiday, might hurt next month's savings.
