I am finally starting to sort myself out - switched over to first direct and opened a regular saver. So now I have £200 going to my htb ISA and £300 going into my regular saver just after payday
Then I have the first direct sweep setup to empty my current account into my savings account just before payday each month! I graduated in July and got my first graduate job straight away, used that to slowly get out of my student overdraft etc. Then started a new role in November, with the first payday paying for Xmas. Now it's time to save!

SF just to say I've had to drop my (slightly ambitious) target this year by £2000. Already being hit with some unexpected expenses so if my target on the spreadsheet could be changed I would appreciate it!

Hi SF and everyone :hello:
Hope you don't mind me joining the party late? I did this challenge a few years back and failed miserably but am now in a better financial position where we can save as our IVA has finished (as of last Oct) so actually have spare money to save up now
I know I'm late so have some catching up to do. Unfortunately the first month or two is going to be slower for me than the rest of the year as we are taking a well earned holiday in a few weeks so I won't be able to commit to this properly until I am back. But I will join up now anyway and work out my savings goal. New house on the horizon for myself, Mr Sweetpeas and the sweetpealets
Nice to be back and have this thread as motivation
Good luck everyone xx

Booo! Contents insurance renewal was waiting for me when I got home. Obviously didn't renew. Did a comparison. No direct saving as had to up the cover level, so paid more than the renewal cost, but less than the old insurer would have charged for equivalent cover. That's £140 I've got to save back.
Oh, well. Don't have to pay it again for another year!#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

#113 declaring £1,000 for January. The first month has gone so quickly, but I am going to try and save £1,000 each month.

Oops I made a mistake *sigh* I counted my 'rainy day' pots in what I had saved this month and they fluctuate as they include gifts and holiday so I don't want to count them.
This means that I need to change the amount I saved to £611.55
Oh well, onwards and upwards!0
