Sat 28th/Sun 29th November - What small DFW things will you do this weekend? :)

It will be going on the CC but the tyres will go onto current months CC and it will close off before the brake pads goes on, so not all in one go thankfully. so will only need to pay one off before xmas and the other one after, which makes it easier.LegoM- what a pain about needing car repairs done pre xmas. Do you have a car fund or will it come from cash flow for the month?

Oh Ally I hope its not bad news.
Went to As@a. Some had abandoned a trolley without taking their pound which made me very happy. DS1 needed shampoo and is fussy. The one he wanted was on offer for £3.50 but when I got home I have been charged £4.95. Really annoyed, I hate that. I checked the price on the shelf carefully too.
Got the ingredients for the christmas cake at a good price so will probably do that tomorrow.0 -
Morning all, I've finally got round to posting in the morning one day this week :rotfl: better late than never. I have read every day though. Thanks for starting CCL. Hope you get some sleep, I worked from 7.30-11 last night for my day job after a full day there too. No overtime either

Anyway list for today:
Washing drying on airer/radiator after cheap wash, another cheap wash on just caught cheap rate.
Check BG account, I owe them for my final electric bill but they haven't sent it yet.
Move money from pressie account for a couple of bits I picked up yesterday
Packed lunch for girls at dancing
Sort out remainder of boxes/toys in dining room so we can move table tomorrow
Going to DM after dancing, she has a bundle of nectar points and we are going to combine those with some staff discount to get our Christmas non perishables and things that can be frozen. Armed with list:D
Have changed the filter in our diffuser/ dehumidifier type things in bedrooms, must look on amaz0n for some more as like to keep some in stock. Definitely helps reduce damp in bedrooms and air much drier
See if hubby can get Christmas cards form loft so I can write tonight.
Think that's all, have a good day everyone.
Just back from mums, lovely afternoon. Late night for both girls but was lovely the 3 of us coming home and them chatting away
hoping they may 'lie in' tomorrow - something beginning with a 7 would be nice :rotfl:
I have done my list apart from Christmas cards as DH didn't have time earlier. Perhaps tomorrow. We got 128 worth of shopping in Mr S for £42 :T plus my mum said she'd pay double :T:T so glad we did it. Just need to write a list of perishables now and get them when the date comes up past Christmas over the next few weeks. Definitely no last minute shopping in the rush here
Ally, hope you are ok. Sending hugs up north
Loving the sealed pot Foxgloves - we did one with £2, which we had for about 18 months It had £600 in it when we emptied it  we used it in some new windows that were much needed. We have another £2 on the go, but much more of a long term thing as you don't often get them (but the rule is you can't spend it if you get one, even if money is tight
) however, thinking of doing a small scale one, DH v competitive too so would be a nice little competition.
My turn for work bake off on Monday, must go to make base of cheesecake so I can do rest tomorrow.0 -
Jonno- I've just read out loud to mr f that you had £600 of £2 coins in a sealed pot & he's gone all googly-eyed! Reckon he's mentally figuring out how many he'd need for an X-box One.

Late check in

Thanks for the knitting advice - I've given it a go, and have managed to make a Rudolph Christmas tree decoration. Quite enjoyed it, although I have a sore finger and thumb now from being so out of practise with knitting needles...
Not the busiest of days, which is good because I've been tired and feeling a bit under the weather. As always - I never properly stop though.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »

Morning all, typing this cwtched up in my nice warm bed. Ds 2 has been awake about half an hour and is in between us watching Netflix. It's so nice being tucked up listening to the weather that sounds awful but knowing we don't have to leave the house today!
I will post my list in a bit as typing this I my phone.
Ccl hope you got a good nights sleep and feel better this morning.0 -

Love it :T it's amazing how much they really do add up quickly. We started it as we have decided our retirement goal (albeit a good few years away) is to go to watch the ashes in Australia. So we started saving £2. However, when we emptied it we decided to use it on something we needed now (windows) but I have a log of it so we effectively 'owe' it to ourselves.
Once I bought something in a shop and the lady gave my £14 in £2 coins. Part of me was very excited at increasing sealed part - other part was thinking, damn - can't spend it :rotfl:
Keep me posted on how Mr F gets on
My list for today:
Tidy round, washing and DW on early as didn't do it last night. Will catch some cheap rate.
Pay electricity bill that miraculously appeared after mentioning on here I needed to chase it - move from saved fund.
Sort dining room
Get ready for week ahead, including ironing school clothes for week
Tia Maria cheesecake in oven as I write for work tomorrow.
Bake some rolls - try and get some in to freezer before they all get eaten :rotfl:
Meal plan for week
Maybe go to wholesaler for final trip pre Christmas, depends what time DH gets home (and weather - might be a cosy afternoon on the sofa instead)
Enjoy your day everyone.
