Oh gosh I am such an idiot. The nappies were for 11kg or 22pounds up not 11 pounds
the nappies are like a full body stocking on her and she'd better not try to sneak up on anyone in those!
Aww bless you Bob, that made me giggle - must be lack of sleep. We used Boots own brand with DS and found them so much better than the big brandsGoodreads 2025 Challenge :16/75

boots eh, we do have one so I will investigate. It's funny as last time round we had a car still and I used to go to the nearest big Mr S pop DS in the trolley and fill it up. Including a big box of whatever nappies were on offer. I definately hadn't had my LBM then..we used to spend so much on shopping. But had a higher income. If only we'd saved it then though. " Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

CCL - Thanks for starting us off today
Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.
No work for DH so we had a lovely lie-in and a bit of a lazy day. So today we have:
Shopping with list & vouchers
Collected a Christmas gift for mum and managed to get her a bargain - car mats £7.50 from Tesco (DH very impressed with them, the ones we were looking at were £17)
Blitzed lounge, hallway & kitchen
Dusted all pictures on stairs (we have lots - like a blumming gallery says OH
but I like it - lots of holiday pics from over the years and a fabulous sunset/sunrise section on our attic stairs)
Hung 2 more pictures :rotfl:
Chased "charity" about donations
Bumped all sale listings/freecycle/facebook
Checked Banks
Continuing purge on Emails
Continuing decluttering -
Entered a few comps
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
Check https://www.freepostcodelottery.com - Remember there are now 5 chances to win
Checked Lucky Phone
I also intend to sit and wrap a few pressies or write family cards whilst watching my Saturday favourites - Strictly, Dr Who and Casualty - nothing taxing, just easy viewing
Hope you're all having a good day and weekend! Love to you all!

Ally - Oh dear, that is one big worry. Sending positive thoughts up North as of now x
CCL - Re knitting needle sizes. I don't think it will make much difference to be honest, so what I'd do is use the smaller ones if you tend to be a loose knitter & the bigger ones if your tension is quite tight. But overall, I don't think the equivalent of being half a size out is going to affect your creation.
Bob - Flippin' heck, those nappies will probably fit you!
Better post my list up now or you'll all think I've been slacking or that I've had to have a lie-down after the excitement of opening my sealed pot!

            Evening Frugal Ones,
And here is today's list of positive money things:
*City centre trip. Paid for 1 hour less in car park & decided to dawdle less! Took packed lunch as knew we'd be arriving for supermarket shop at lunchtime & panini & chips would be calling our name in that particularly evil way that chips have.
*Had got my sealed pot money ear marked for something - a gorgeous top I'd seen in 'Monsoon'. Was really hoping there'd be £25 in my pot so I could just add some money from my December 'Personal Spends' & treat myself. Decided not to use the Clothes Piggy money to buy it as it is definitely a 'want' & not a 'need'. You know when you try something on & even when you are feeling more plumptious than normal you think 'I look hot in this top'? Well, amazing news on the sealed pot front was that it contained £47. I was stunned as only put 50ps in it.The top was £45 so it covered the full price & I put the remaining £2 towards coffees & toasted teacakes (a full loyalty card paid for one of the coffees). Defo starting new sealed pot from tomorrow.
*Signed up for 'Paperchase' loyalty card. Lovely shop & even if I only use it for the birthday £5 treat, it will still be nice. mr f signed up for one too, also for a 'Holland & Barrett' loyalty card when he called in for some half price patchouli & an HMV one when he went in to spend his sealed pot treat money on some DVDs.
*Spent more on grocery shop than I'd have liked, but it wasn't a 'normal' shop as contained a number of items for making Christmas Cake which I bought today because they were on 'Buy 3, get cheapest free' deal. Used CC to maximise points (for John Lewis vouchers) & paid off the exact amount as soon as I got home.
*Picked up Co-op Christmas magazine which contains lots of extra dividend vouchers so will be making use of those, plus entering the competition. Time I won something. 10 x dividend points in store today & lots of festive goodies to sample. First time I've done my shopping while simultaneously consuming a chocolate biscuit, a rum truffle, a cheese straw & a quality street! (Can't fault it!)
*Did an Ipsos survey.
*Texted Mum to see what Christmas mags she's bought. I fancied buying one, but she passes onto me so many mags, I didn't want to waste money on a duplicate. In the end, I didn't buy one at all. I love festive mags, but they seem so samey these days. There's only so many different things one can do with sprouts & I know how to make & ice a cake, steam a pudding, etc. So that saved £5.
*Found 1p roadkill.
*mr f resisted buying a heavily discounted gizmo in Sainso's. He loves cinema/audio/tv 'kit'. It almost made it into the trolley, then he decided we'd shop first so he could think about it. I said we could afford it if it was the gizmo we needed & it would solve all our current tech shortcomings but would be unhappy if he announced next year that it needed upgrading because it wasn't quite the right purchase. He said he thought that was exactly what would happen. The item we apparently require is more expensive but will solve more problems & have greater longevity. And at that, my techie ex-big spender husband WALKED AWAY FROM THE DEAL!!!
Hoping to knit more sleeve tonight so I can get this present finished & sewn up, but I have slightly sprained my thumb & am hoping I'll be able to knit. I'm not saying how I sprained it, as it's too daft to laugh at!
OK, nice to chat to you all. Wishing everyone a cosy peaceful evening......for those planning to hit the town, keep your hands on your pence.

Thought I had better come back for an update

Ziggy, I have loads of pictures too, and keep accumulating more
Mine are prints / paintings as opposed to photos (my photo skills are sadly lacking, as are many others :rotfl:) Hmm that sounds rather grand, so should advise that they all came from auctions / car boot sales / junk shops. I did once (and only once!) spend £60 on one  but I do really love it. The most recent one cost 20p, and I love that as well
Lol Bob, if you haven't opened them you can take them back for an exchange, and if you have, well, she will soon grow into them
  So no worries really!
Foxgloves - well, who won re the sealed pots, or have I missed it?
Dog walks x 2 #1 done, didn't get wet
Only managed one, as it is now pouring with rain
Post letters / postal survey item Done
HM meals from stores, leftover macaroni cheese for lunch and meatballs and tomato sauce for dinner. I will make a crumble too
Also made scones
Keep freezer and larder inventories updated - I typed them up and keep the files on the desktop of my PC, instead of printing them out and pinning / sticking on doors, and I am finding this much easier to manage
I have deleted the things I have taken out for dinner today
Any surveys that are available, plus check FPL Done
Might try again to do a bit of Christmas shopping in town - I wasn't feeling the love yesterday
Didn't get there, better get on it next week! I did receive the item I ordered yesterday afternoon from Bench however, and was impressed with the speed of delivery, the product and the discount
I will use them again! Not for myself, but for young relatives I hasten to add (big logos etc are not my thing  but it does seem to be of good quality)
Dry washing, probably on the airer judging by what the weather looks like outside
Well, it is still not raining, and the clothes are blowing on the line at the moment
Just checked Quidco and discovered that I have over £51 ready to withdraw. That will come in handy towards the Christmas shopping
(when I eventually get to do any
)
Washing now in and on airer to finish off, pup curled up in front of the wood burner
DD2 came round with little GD to make the family Christmas puddings, now done
Baby GD enjoyed the mixing, sampling ingredients as they went in. The flour was yucky apparently, and the brandy was disallowed
She ate quite a lot of dried fruit though
Received a free sample of Aerial liquitabs, which I don't remember sending for, but was pleased to get them anyway

Afternoon all, sorry been MIA for the last couple of days but I have read all your news

Ally, thinking of you.
Bob, We spent a fortune on nappies with ds1 and also for a while with ds2 but someone suggested lidls nappies and we ended up using them and they were fine for him.
:starmod: We've had a busy couple of days as dh's car was in for a service yesterday, the good news was that he worked from home so that saved the cost of 100 miles of fuel but his car needs 2 new tyres next week and is brake pads the week before xmas.
:santa2: I bought the last of the families pressies and got it heavily discounted yesterday (£45 down to £17.50) so really pleased.
:starmod: Bought some crumpets in 1celand yesterday and swiped bonus card which then meant I was entitled to a free pizza
so that's ready for next weeks pizza night
:starmod: Today I was meeting my sis/mum in town but she was delayed in work so mum was able to use her staff discount card to get us both a really cheap cuppa each
:santa2: Took dh's phone as well as my phone into town so that we could go into w.smiths to pick up the 02 freebies on both accounts (my sis had picked her's up earlier in the week, so she knew exactly where the stuff we wanted was in the shop which helped!!) so picked up 2 free packs of chocolate coins (1 each to go in the kids xmas eve hamper (we do this instead of a stocking) also 2 packs of 30 Christmas cards (selling for £5.99) lovely quality cards, and again got them for free!! If you are on O2 I highly recommend checking out the app
On Monday theres going to be starwars sticker books free and I believe another Mr men book (the starwars will go in to boys hampers and I'll give my sis the mr men books as she can use them for her young nieces and nephews
 )
:santa2: Then to Ha1fords for another 02 freebie, hot wheels car, (again used both phones so sis can use these as an xmas pressie as above as my two aren't into cars)
:starmod: Then to asba, got 4 boxes of soren breakfast bars which we will get money back for as its on COS & clicksnap and both dh & I have both apps
:santa2: Onto smyths, as we'd had a £6 off £20 voucher got a board game & book with this this will now be the gifts to my boys from my sis, happy to be able to save her some money as she had budgeted £10 each and she'd usually just grab the first thing she sees, so at least I've saved her the money and ds's will get something they would actually like & use!
:starmod: Back home for hm leek & potato soup & fresh bread
Shattered now but happy with all we got done today (even though we both got totally soaked!!)
Ds1 has asked to sleep as my parents tonight, so just me, dh & ds2 home now, cwtched under blankets watching netflixs
Hugs to those who need them
Take care all (sorry for waffling so much!)0 -
Dawn W - The sealed pots were not supposed to be a competition, but for the last couple of months it's really felt as though they were as mr f can be very competitive.....................which was a shame for him, as there was £47 in mine & about £20 in his! Hahahahahaha!!! My suspicions that he had been surreptitiously stuffing pound coins in during the final weeks were unfounded. He really had only saved shrapnel, but sufficient to buy himself some DVDs this morning, which he really enjoyed. He is already planning a change of strategy for next year's sealed pots, so has clearly taken my victory to heart, lol x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Foxgloves - I love my sealed pots & have started again this year....I have a re purposed coffee tin for £2 coins and my large coke bottle for shrapnel.
I did treat myself to a copy of last years sewing bee book - with patterns and only £6 :rotfl::rotfl::j:j . To equal this out, I talked mum out of buying something from create and craft which allows you to extend patterns using your bust & waist measurement...... It seems a good idea and is what I already do - I think I will buy their French curves as I will use them.

LegoM- what a pain about needing car repairs done pre xmas. Do you have a car fund or will it come from cash flow for the month?
Foxgloves - I used to love glossy mags but feel having the Internet on my phone has taken the need away somewhat..but they all ended up being recycled content I felt anyway. Agree there is only so many ways you can take in the same content.
Ziggy- loving the sound of the sunrise section that sounds very uplifting." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
