    I should have added I was pleasantly surprised that the Motorolla V220 I bought was open to all networks. I have used my Orange sim in it no probs. I haven't checked out the Sony Ericisson yet - do you know if its sim free too?

    Its normally only Orange and T-Mobile phones which are locked to the network. Most O2 and Voda phones are plain vanilla GSM stock, so they are unlocked can can be used with any GSM SIM

    My Sony Ericsson T630 is unlocked. I have used a Vodafone sim in it OK.

    Big screen, bluetooth - I'm chuffed with it!

    Re T630 are we missing something with getting the camera working. When we select on camera mode nothing happens, when we hit the camera button on the side nothing happens. Do we have to enable something?

    Turns out the T630 is faulty. Mobileshop said pop in the post on Monday and they will send a new one out. Told me to put a note in asking for reimbursement of postage too.

    Apart from the Camera the phone is working fine. I agree fab screen and easy to use. OH bought the BT headset too for £19.99 and that is fab with it.

    I think I prefer it to my Motorolla V220 now :drool: - however my 10 year old likes mine better and has decided she will have then one when my 12 months is up. How much longer do you think I can keep fobbing her off with my old phones :confused:

    Sorry for dredging this topic back up BUT I put my first claim in and they confirmed receipt on 13/11/06. I am STILL waiting for the money to come through! I called last week and was told it would be in by start of this week - nothing. I called this morning and they said they had a problem with their banking system - I SMELL A RAT!
    Now they said they will send me a cheque, I have said this will be nearer 80 days and awhen i signed up it was for 30 days cashback! She didnt sound that interested, so I said I will call back on Friday if they cheque has not arrived - if they dont pay me can I take them to small claims court? Also I guess worse case scenario I will have to cancel at 11 month (June 07) and be out of pocket to £420. : (

    overdraft was 1500 now 1360 must try harder.

    loan was 13705.24 now 9791.62 due to be paid off 01/02/2011 but gonna aim for 01/05/2009!!

    amex cc was 4210 now 3650.48 lobt at 4.9% due to be paid off in 01/02/08
    total owed was £19415.24 now its £14802.10 going down!!!:money:
    I am proud to be dealing with my debt!
    just one day at a time, dont take on ANY NEW debt.
  • Just if it helps to ease anyone's mind, my wife and I have both just finished 12 month contracts with mobileshop and have managed to claim all of the cashback successfully without any problems at all.

    The only thing I would say was that the original documentation stated that they would pay the cashback around about 45 days after the date on the vouchers they sent us (do they still send out vouchers now?), but they changed this in the middle of the year to 60 days and then ended up paying at about 75-80 days in reality.

    We queried the delay for the first couple of cashback claims, but after that just relied on the online cashback tracking service to make sure that the claims had been received/were being processed.

    My new contract is with The Mobile Outlet... (fingers crossed that goes as smoothly).

    Our policy is that all post is sent second class so please expect your cheque on Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

    Hmm strange they are doing chequeback. My last MobileShop cashbback the money went straight into my bank account. They would also notify me each time (by email) they received a voucher from me and again when the cashback was being applied to my account.
