Doing it your way would not work because when you accepted the quote you would have to use your correct address and that would identify you as an existing customer, When I have upgraded in the past The new contract email has been sent to me within an hour so do not think they have accepted it. I will probably just leave it and see what happens with prices.Consumerist said:millie said:

Hi millie, how are you trying to get this quote i.e. where are you starting from?millie said:. . . if I try to get a quote now when asked to login I get no quote, just the normal home page.OK. I went to Avro homepage and used the green Get a Quote button, top-right, entered my details and actually got a quote for 'Super12M' plus a Switch Now button. I didn't go any further but I wasn't asked to log in before getting the quote.I didn't use my real address so they probably didn't recognise me as an existing customer. If you were asked to log in for the quote, you were probably identified as an existing customer. I wonder if they have accepted your deferred switch. You will need to speak to or email them to find out more.I'm sure we would all be interested to hear how things go if you follow it up.1 -
With any luck, by June prices may start to come down a bit and you may be glad your deferred switch wasn't accepted.

If you use this link it asks you to login and then it gives you all the details of your renewal offer.
That`s as far as I went because I don`t know what would happen if I press the "renew now" link.
Maybe get the same message as Millie did asking you to ring them.
But why have the offer there if they won`t give you it?0 -

But why have the offer there if they won`t give you it?If the details include a renewal date then take a snapshot of the page before hitting the "renew now". So you've got some evidence in case you may need it.If the details do not include a renewal date then it's reasonable to assume that they will renew immediately.I renewed in response to receiving their 42-day-wonder email and I will transfer to the new tariff on the day after my existing contract expires. What I don't know is how long they will allow you to defer the renewal. I am only guessing that it will be a maximum of the 49-day switching window or perhaps only the 42 days after receiving the 42-day-wonder email. The answer to your question is that they will give you the tariff you have asked for but they may not allow you to defer the switch or, if they do allow you to delay the switch, it won't be for too long.

Your new tariff will start on: 19/05/2021
Change date
What happens when you press renew now is anyone`s guess.
I don`t want to commit yet with so long to go.0 -
That's similar to what I was presented with when I renewed. I hit the Renew Now button and shortly afterwards received a confirmation email.2010 said:Through that link it gives all details, tariff name, renewal date, monthly DD, tariff rates.Renew NowYour current tariff ends on: 18/05/2021

I don`t want to commit yet with so long to go.If you have any concerns, take a screenshot of that renewal page before hitting the renew button, as evidence of what you have agreed to.Perhaps you'll let us know how you get on.EditJust a quick heads up. They adjusted my DD right away from the date of the next payment due and sent notice of the change shortly after the confirmation email.

Worst company i have ever dealt with.Seven weeks with them and i have had enough,Still can not enter or see meter readings and no Bills.Very poor customer service,I have initiated a switch away from them to Octopus on the 16th.(switch date 2nd April)Let's see if octopus has the same problems that Avro could not sort out.0

Having been with Avro Energy since January - here is my opinion so far:
Pros - they're one of the cheapest energy companies around (by a long way (over £100/year), which is fine if you don't need customer support, and they don't have exit fees.
Cons - If you have a SMETS2 smart meter, forget any benefit (workaround is using the Bright mobile application to look at fancy graphs of your elec/gas usage and your IHD for meter readings.) - they ask for meter readings once a month, and customer support said if you respond with 'take remote reading' they will do, but they don't - you get an estimated meter reading in the bill.
Either Pro or Con depending on your cirumstances - they don't analyse/adjust your direct debit dependent on dynamic usage.0 -
I now see that Super12M is on the Which/Switch and CAB sites and for me is coming up the cheapest.
It also matches my own calculations of annual usage.
Obviously it will be a jump in cost because I went on Superfixed in Feb 2020.
I`ve contacted them about my renewal quote and if they give the go ahead then I`ll renew on Super12M.
With no exit fees this puts me a position to change if anything cheaper comes along.1 -
And you won't have to concern yourself with any tariff changes until the switch. What a relief!2010 said:With no exit fees this puts me a position to change if anything cheaper comes along.
