As with insurance companies, cheap deals are needed to attract new punters. If they were automatically made available to existing customers they couldn't be so cheap.Yes, it might be fairer, but it would also mean that poor-but-savvy people would end up paying a lot more because they'd no longer be subsidised by the rich-and-don't-care.
True enough, which was why Cheap Energy Club used to be so good... it did the checking for me... not so much now it would appear!!

I left them on the 31st December last year whilst I was in credit with them they still took my direct debit meaning they owed me even more money when I tried to complain over the phone as OFGEM say you should be able to they insisted that I put it in writing they have now agreed to pay my refund and compensation but say that will take up to another 10 working days.
when you try and contact them by phone there is always a long time waiting to get through as they claim the lines are exceptionally busy. Possibly the worst customer service ever3 -
HiHas anyone had problems submitting meter reads with Avro? I can submit my gas but the form for submitting electric has no field for the 'new reading'. I've tried a differnent browser but it's just the same.Cheers0

Thanks for getting in touch.
At the moment, Avro hasn't made us aware of any tariffs available for existing customers to switch to through our comparison site.
It is possible that tariffs are available directly through Avro.
I hope this helps clarify.
Thanks
MSE NicoleJust to confirm my suspicions here is the response I received from Avro after waiting over a week for a reply from them. Avro's reply is clearly totally untrue but it does confirm that MSE CEC are definitely not to blame for being unable to show Avro's tariffs for existing customers.Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately we do not offer tariffs for existing customers on our comparison sites.
Our current tariff Simple and SuperFixed is our cheapest tariff available. This is cheaper than our comparison tariffs.
Please let me know if you require any further assistance.

I have now finally had my refund 12 weeks after leaving them and the robbing b*strds have changed my final bill so I received just over £3 less than the first final bill1

Is the final Final bill correct?
If they have taken more than 30 days from the Final bill to giving you a refund then they have to give you £30 compo but i guess you will need to apply for it.0 -
