Avro Energy reviews: Give your feedback

  • I have been with Avro for last three years. Initial switch was very straightforward and have never had any problems. Each year I do comparison check before renewing fixed rate with Avro as price always good and customer service has always been very prompt and efficient. Didn’t appear on MSE CEC as it states insufficient feedback, which really surprises me. I have recommended Avro to friends and relatives who have all saved money and had excellent communication with Avro.
  • Been with these guys since Apr 2019. It was an easy switch and I've not had any service problems since. However, I needed to contact them recently to help with a refund from my previous supplier who went bust after I had switched but had not, by then, refunded my credit balance. Emailed them initially and got a reply within a couple of days saying what they were going to do (and I have assumed that they did) but on subsequent emails on the same subject I was sent no responses except from the 'bot'. Slightly disconcerting. We'll see how they are at renewal/switch time.

    Remind me, please.

Who was that former energy supplier that went bust, that Avro were appointed by Ofgem as the SoLR for?
  • I've just moved house and was in credit with Avro at the old house. Despite telling me in mid December that they will be refunding me the amount in credit, nothing has appeared in my bank account. Starting to get a bit worried now - especially as the local council gave me a council tax refund which appeared within a few days of them telling me.

James have you got your final bill yet? If so from 1st of May suppliers must refund any money owed within two weeks or 10 working days of a final bill being issued, or pay the compensation which is at least £30. However if you don't have the final bill they have 6 weeks from switch to provide it.

Unfortunately, the six weeks after switch for final bill is ONLY an aspiration - some of the smaller suppliers are taking months to produce a final bill -which may not be correct anyway!!

We were overpaying at one point and ended up with a massive credit, so contacted Avro and they transferred the money back to us within a week.

  • Moved house about 4 months ago and had no problems cancelling my old account at previous address. However no sign of refund of account credit, just sent them an email and will update with feedback as to their response.

Yes I have a final bill - although they then took another DD payment after they were no longer the supplier so they had to then amend that final bill. My last contact with them was the 12th of December when they claimed to have authorised the payment and mentioned the 10 working days. So, by my reckoning with all the Christmas holidays they should pay me today (Thursday) or pay compensation. The final bill is actually dated earlier than that but was obviously produced later.

Ive had absolutely no issue with Avro in the year Ive been with them but it is time to move as there are other cheaper providers out there (by quite a bit too). Pity as Avro was fine (never had any issues with them) but loyalty has a price!
