This thread should be on the vent board as well, I don't think many people visit this credit card board as much as some others boards, could it be duplicated or moved? what do the mods think?

I have to say that terms must not be clear for so many people to be unaware of fees via Interflora but I must stand up for VistaPrint. Their site is very obvious of the charge if you accept which I have not done. Some times we get carried away with offers and freebies that we don't take the time to read the terms.

Best of luck to all reclaiming via Interflora.

I'm not a mod, but I wouldn't have seen it if it was on the Vent board.

I am surprised that Martin hasn't picked up on this thread, it should be the e-mail tip of the week, .

And what could / would his advice be? To actually read what you are signing up to when you tick boxes and provide Email addresses on online sites?

I think it's extraordinarily dubious practice for Interflora to act as an intermediary for this crap. But when you're online you should read T&Cs before you tick. I've shopped with Interflora intermittently for years - and never subscribed to shoperdisc!

I completely agree with this view.

Many websites have popups offering "£10 cash back on next order" at the completion of your order. However, after reading the terms and conditions, I never sign up due to having to cancel/pay future subscription payments etc. If you are being offered a £10 discount on a £40 bunch of flowers you should know something is amiss.

    Email sent to interflora today:

Some months ago I ordered flowers from you successfully, and I have now learned that I have been subject to the Shopdisc scam operated via your website. Congratulations on your smallprint "get out of jail free card" and taking advantage of customer "trust" that a company such as you would not rip off a customer. Whilst Shopdisc have made £8 and Interflora will have taken a cut of this consider this- I will never ever trust you and never order from you. Some manager somewhere in your company had taken the decision to sign up for what I describe as a legal scam and shame on him/her. You will hide behind the "you ticked the box" line, and yes it's my fault for trusting you. Shame on you - shame on you.

So shocking book your interview with BBC tv's "Watchdog".

    tesco flowers.com / next flowers.com here I come!

Thank you interflora for helping me narrow down the choice of online flower delivery companies. £8 well spent!

PS If I'm the only one to complain about this I'm just a random nutter - I suspect I'm not!
In fact I've seen the websites.

PPS Don't waste your time sending the inane standard corporate reply
This is the biggest scam I can remember in quite a while. Trading Standards and Watchdog has got to be the way to go.

  • I'm really shocked by this scam! Can't believe Interflora would be so sneaky! I guess it really is important to read the T+C's.
  • My husband's company credit card has been the victim of this scam. He phoned up and cancelled the card and then cancelled the membership. The site the details were harvested from was Reg_Now but he's a bit bemused as he hasn't used the site in ages.

What concerns him more is that he used Reg_Now to renew several dozen software licences for another firm he does work for and the Managing Director used his card to pay for this. He's off down there now to check that they haven't been signed up as well.

BTW he called RBS Fraud Department who were very interested because they hadn't heard about this particular 'scam' before. He mentioned the site. I hope they come here and check it out. This really does deserve more publicity. More and more people seem to be getting caught by this.
  • I've been caught out by this, but don't know yet where from. Have never bought flowers from Interflora. Have cancelled it and asked for refund, we shall see what happens. Various people have suggested getting in touch with Watchdog, which I have done. The more people that do that the bigger case they will have against this company and the more likely they are to investigate.

Have come across a couple of sites whilst looking for a freezer that are offering £10 off your next purchase of a Hotpoint appliance, don't know if its the same, but I think we will steer clear just in case.
  • I too have just checked my credit card statement to find that this Shoppers Discount and Rewards have been stinging me for 5 months! So, furious I read all of your wounderful advice and contacted 'em directly via email with a furious message and demanding a full refund and cancellation of any and all banking orders. AMAZINGLY ENOUGH WITHIN MINUTES I RECEIVED AN EMAIL: (I do hope they are as genuine as they say...)

Thank you for contacting Shopper Discounts & Rewards.
