Mumto5 - hope the scan for your father in law goes well.

I had to sit for an hour to drink the contrast medium this morning - I was most unnerved to hear what I know to be the beep of a Geiger counter going off for about 20 minutes...
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
  • CY[/B DS has had to drink that stuff and it is truly awful. Glad you are home and all went well.

Feeling a bit flat so just taking it gently. Plasterer coming in an hour so I just need to make sure that everything has been moved. Gym class tonight, maybe it will give me a boost.

CY glad to hear you didn't get the nasty side-effects. Do make sure to rest up before you try and tackle anything this week.;)
LW - hope you're feeling a little brighter x Baby ratties send their licks xx
Aww, thanks - I think I'm too exhausted to really give a flying wossname about anything at present. Just looking forward to lovely Jasper arriving on Friday. He's one of the most empathic dogs I've ever met.
Gentle kisses right back to the wee Ratties.:o

Thought I'd see how I manage with the "official" list today, just for a laugh.

    • Clean windows in these areas, check curtains/nets/blinds while you are there, do they need a clean?
    • Check you have your Christmas card list done, if it's not done at least spend 10 minutes on it
We ate that Frog last week, while it was just a Tadpole; we only had 24 cards to do; they're written and in 3 piles - ready to post, ready to deliver by hand, and awaiting a letter to go in with them.

    • Spend 15 minutes sorting paperwork, dealing with anything urgent NOW Done - it actually took well over an hour, but we're all up to date.
    • Spend half an hour doing something for yourself
    • 27 Fling Boogie, you know the routine, grab a bag and clear that clutter! Not exactly a 27 Fling Boogie, but I've got the pink recycling sack in and scouted round for stuff to go in it (bin day tomorrow).
    • Clean out the vacuum cleaner, empty the bag/bucket, clean filters if they are washable MAKE SURE YOU DON'T PUT THEM BACK UNTIL THEY ARE DRY! Vac emptied; washing the filters is done to a schedule, and it's not due yet.
I haven't by a long chalk completed today's list, but I did do a WM load first thing, and have got it all dry with judicious use of the radiators, also washed some stuff that had to be done by hand (now drip-drying over the bath cos I can't wring it out very well).

I shall now grab a duster and see if I can at least do the stuff below eye-level.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Good afternoon everyone, Please count me in for this week. I lost motivation last week due to getting a bad cold, which has also meant that I have also fallen behind with uni work, after a mini breakdown last night followed by a long discussion with DH, I have now allocated all the kids (inc DH) some chores to do around the house in the hope that it will take some of the pressure off me.

    Hi all,

Back from paid stuff and on kitchen duty. Spuds baking and chicken almost ready to go in... Was very easy to find dinner after my fridge and freezer sorting this weekend :)

Have also tidied airers away as stuff is dry now, although there is more washing to be done now *sigh* still wee don't need anything desperately.

LR, hall and stairs at tidy apart from bags and uniform for morning so I might just go get the duster before the littlies are home. We'll sweep up after dinner.

As for a Christmas card list - I don't really send them - except for a very few. 5 friends and my brother. We don't send them at work, nor local family, and most of my other friends don't bother either. The children might like to make some for their closest friends and for their grandparents. I keep old cards and tags - I have a bag of them - for such crafting moments.

    Right. Look out, dust!

I've been out at DH's aunt and uncle's to continue packing and moving them to their new bungalow. Sorted out the collection and move of her orthopaedic bed so she is able to move across tonight. How I haven't brained DH's useless and lazy uncle, I don't know.

Living room now looking OK after a mad 30 minutes tidying up. Hoovered and steam cleaned the slate floor yesterday evening, so just needs a whizz over with a soft broom.

Have sorted out all the coats and have some small ones that Tiny has now outgrown to pass on. I'm waiting for my textured steam cleaner mop heads to arrive before I tackle the hallway floor as it is ancient, cobbled bricks and it needs a really good scrub with three huge hounds running mud through the house on a frequent basis.

Glad to hear the scan went well with no nasty side-effects CY x

I'm loving the sound of an electric blanket Mumto5 - my DH won't have one as he thinks they're dangerous. I've tried to explain you can turn them off when you get into bed, but he's having none of it :(

they were in the 70's they have all manner of safety checks and stuff now.

I went upstairs to do a 2 minute pick-up/drop-off in the boys room and spent 1.5 hours sorting 2 boxes of gubbins and putting the heat reflective things behind their radiator after picking up he cat turd on DS2's dressing gown.. gross.. it is actually rather toasty in there now all the grot has been shifted from in front of the radiator and the room cleared of grot.

Did some mowing. Don't recommend mowing in the dark, it's quite hard. Have given up until tomorrow. Did get some more logs in to the garage and drag a lot of weeds out of the stream. Also made a vast vat of soup so need to tidy the inside freezer. But first I have work to finish :(
