Sat/Sun 21st/22nd November - What small DFW things will you do this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:

Morning Ally & all who follow
Hugs to those who need them :grouphug:
I got the job, so from mid January I will be a finance analyst working with the Russians !!!! Eeek, scared, excited, apprehensive etc. They will give me a payrise (unexpected) and will support me for studying CIMA. It'll be made final once I get the letter through the post and then it'll be announced to both teams. They area lovely bunch so I don't know why I feel nervous.
Now that's over, I will have to catch up on yesterday's gossip - I didn't stop at all to catch up with the forum - I missed my bus to Hubby's workplace which meant I had to get 2x trains and pay extra for the privilege.
Anyhow today I have/will:- meals from stores
- checked online banking
- meeting a friend in Winchester who I've not seen for about a year, so I'll need to think of some gossip
- I'll get a train to meet her and use my national railcard to get discounted tickets
- i will try to resist going into any fabric shop or cath kidston store
- if i do pop into cath kidston i will see of they have a laptop bag (will buy it in the boxing day sales)
- will be charging my phone through the pc and tv when they are on
- staying in tonight and hatching things on the sky box
- need to pot any change
- if i get time today, i need to go through the great wall of fabric to see what i have
- going to try to walk 7,000 footsteps to get bounts points
Think that is enough to be getting on with, take care everyone xx

Morning Ally and Candy and all that follow :hello: congrats on job Candy.
Today will mainly consist of volunteering for a local charity for the day at a sale. However, will be doing a few things on the way.
When I set up last night I spotted a couple of things that could be presents for Christmas, will see if I can get them in the preview sale
Not spend money on just 'anything' at sale
Free lunch at sale for volunteering
Not eat loads of free cakes
Try and fend off cold that's brewed overnight
Washing done overnight drying on airer
Meals from stores, packed lunch for DD to dancing
Maybe do tax return tonight if not too tired
Sort out bag of clothes for charity shop v recycling
Think thats all, will check back later

Hi everyone :hello:
Thanks for the kick off Ally :A I've just requested to set up that free credit report thingy but then got v annoyed with the post code lookup on their site that doesn't work correctly and it wouldn't let me enter my address manually either
I normally check my credit report for free through N0ddle - not usually as bothered about the score - but it would be nice to see what the other company says and not just N0ddle.
Candy - Nice one on the job! :T
I've got a big day at home planned :j
This is our last full weekend at home for a couple of weeks so going to get Mega Sorted (technical term)
Also need to sort out car insurance finally...
OH is a bit down about his business at the min - things are pretty quiet - so I'm going to work on Mega Budget (technical term) to see how we can work things out...
The day will mostly be spent with free music provided by free sp0tify app
Catch up soon with a bit more of a list probably.

Good morning everyone
Thanks for the start Ally - and huge congratulations on the job Candy :j.
It's absolutely freezing today - there was a bit of snow overnight, and the wind had me awake more than once so of course my good nights sleep didn't materialise at all. And so far ds football isn't cancelled  dh better be prepared to do the football today.
Plenty of plans for the weekend - goodness knows how many of them will materialise though. Still, aim high - you never know.check bank
sort out YNAB
Figure out my plans for getting a lot of stuff from Mr S for a small amount of money using a combination of coupons and double up vouchers. This could take a while.
Hoover through
clean the bathroom
if the weather gets ok I MUST wash the car
fill up car washer bottles
plan some cooking and baking to use stuff up
get ds to football
both kids to gymnastics
nothing school related at all
no chance of a day without using the heating, but don't overdo it.
try not to argue with dh - may be difficult but we'll see
no frivolous spends
Have a good day everyone. :beer:Not giving up
