unlocking the phone means you can just put your Voda sim card in the phone and keep you old number etc
I can unlock the phone for you if you send me the IMEI number by Private message...see my postings/thanks in this threadEx forum ambassador

The airtime on your £20 voucher will only work with Virgin, so unless you are intending on using Virgin I would keep it and your Joining Pack sealed in case you decide to sell them on.
You also have £5 calling credit on your Sim so that has a resale value too, and will be more attractive to purchasers if you have not registered the number as yours with Virgin.
But I must say that I have decided to stick with Virgin because I have found the calls & texts pretty cheap (15ppm for the first 5mins of each day then 5ppm to phone same network, or just 3p to text other Virgin phones & FREE voicemail) and the Network has been very reliable so far on Virgin so I would recommend giving them a go! I was with Vodaphone PAYG before and found them quite expensive, and the network availability patchy here - but it's horses-for-courses and it all depends on network signal quality where you live and what types of calls you make with your phone.
I am not sure, because I haven't needed to do it, but it may be possible to arrange with Virgin to migrate your old Vodaphone number to them to use with your new Virgin Sim (so you will be able to use your Virgin call credit too) - but as I say I am not sure whether this can be done - perhaps another forum member will know and post below?:EasterBun

yes you can port you number to (or from) virgin mobile, although sometimes this can cause an issue with MMS but 99% of the time its fine. This wont affect you if your using a Nokia 1100 anyway as its not an MMS capable handset.
Incidentally Virgin mobile uses the T-Mobile network to provide service, so if you get a good reliable coverage on T-Mobile where you live, then you safely assume Virgin will be the same.
Oh and with regards to the unlocking thing - All Browntoa needs to calculate your unlock code is the IMEI number (or serial number) from your handset, this has nothing to do with topping up etc as your fone number and calltime etc are all stored either on the network or on the sim card itself and are completely independent from the actual handset itself.0 -
Thanks Turbodiesel and BNU it`s just that I have a really easy
number on Voda, and about £20 credit,I will pm Browntoa now thanks to all of you .A wise man changes his mind, a fool never will.
