I forgot to ask, assuming I get to the right checkout page and get my phone, I am not bothered which network I am on (currently orange PAYG) but DO want to keep my existing number, is this what unlocking will allow me to do? do I go from orange to virgin with my old number and new phone or use my £20 credit up with virgin and use the new phone with my orange PAYG? I apologise if that is not very clear and for being a bit dim about this.
cheers0 -
YesIt depends on which network you want to use this phone is on the virgin network, if you want to move to Virgin you will have to get your PAC number from Orange and pass that on to Virgin.
If you want to stay with Orange you can sell the £20 voucher/Sim pack to someone who uses Virgin and get the phone unlocked to work with your Orange sim, just ask/post on the Unlocking forum.

it is quite easy to unlock most nokia phones by going to https://www.unlockme.co.uk and follow the instructions on the screen i have used this site on many occasions and best of all this service is free0

Welcome to MSE robo. It is even easier to use our very own Nokia experts by adding to the Unlocking Nokias thread at the top of this board0

YesWelcome Newbies!
Wow thread viewers have jumped from 4900 to over 10,000 overnight! I guess I have Martin's newsletter to thank for that - or perhaps MrGreen & Pinkonion's nominations for Post of the Month? Thanks guys!
I have just tested the site again (8.40am 26/05/05) and it is DEFINITELY still working and showing the £20 call voucher. If you are having difficulties try emptying your basket before coming out of Virgin's site, clear your cookies and history and try again. A few people have had this problem, but it is not the website, and they have usually got round it in the end. If not then all is not lost - just telephone in your order on the number shown on my original post, you will not get your Rpoints/other cashback this way but at least you will get the deal.:EasterBun
