Thanks TheHacker - that makes me feel a bit better about missing out on the Post Of The Month Award that has been announced today (Well done Charlotte!)
Thanks also to MrGreen, PinkOnion & Footsore who kindly nominated this thread, I will take comfort from the number of viewings this thread has had and hope for better luck next time! _pale_:EasterBun

Another thank you!
Received mine today. Bought one before I saw this and paid £9.99 for phone only [already virgin customer]. Thought I was doing well then but £1.99........ This one is for the family to use as virgin to virgin texts are so cheap.0 -
Well yesterday I received the two phones I ordered, the extra "Virgin Red" discount was successfully applied. So a good all round bargain!
EXCEPT: I've made a complete pig's ear of unlocking the 3200. I had 3 goes then dh had a couple more. Result: stuffed!I don't think it can be unlocked at all now. Virgin Mobile have said they'll have a go but I don't know if even they can do it after 5 failed attempts at my end. I don't understand it as we've both unlocked loads of phones in the past.
I rang my local independent mobile phone shop, who said that even a cable cannot save me now!
Anyone else been in a similar situation?
Thanks once again for the advice, BNU."By not unsettling men, you will reassure them. By unsettling men either through timidity or malice, you are always compelled to keep a knife in hand." - Niccolo Machiavelli, 1469-15270 -

One of the lads on the Unlock Forum http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=33695 will probably be able to advise you better - but if all else fails and you definitely need to have an unlocked phone you could always stick it on eBay and start all over again!!:EasterBun

Been showing off my phone today....usual oh aye's until i told them i got it for a couple of quid. Lots of interest then. I mean what good is a £300 phone if you've lost it. All the navigational aids and onboard cameras in the world won't find it.
Tough luck on the monthly award BNU..............never mind to all us guys who have wanted to buy a phone and not pay a fortune, then you are the tops for us. :money:
And BROWNTOA you are the king :T . Unlocked my phone and it works a treat :j . I will probably just use up the credit on virgin and see how it goes.
Anyone know where to get the cheapest 02 sim cards :rotfl:0 -
I ordered mine Monday lunchtime and it was delivered at 10.00am on Tuesday which, considering it was a Bank Holiday, I thought was brilliant service. I am already with Virgin, but current phone a bit of a heavy brick with an aerial. That £25 credit should last me about two years!!
I have seen some of these for sale on Ebay - bit of a cheek really! Phone is for sale new in box with £5 credit and presumably the £20 voucher is sold on separately. Even saw an empty Nokia 1100 box for sale which fetched over £10 - can you believe it?
Anyway, a great post and thanks - bargains always appreciated.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
it's not true about them not being able to unlock the 3200 by cable , he just does'nt have either the cable or and updateable box (the cheap ones don't update !)
Drahcir is a user on here who seems to have all the gear...drop him a messageEx forum ambassador

New to posting on here and just starting to find my way around. I would have voted if I had known!
BTW Thanks- I have just ordered another phone. Hubby may try and get another tomorrow. Great to save for presents! Once unlocked, can you still just use it on virgin? It would just make it easier to switch if we wanted to later. The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0
