Surely you'd remember hitting something in the last 100 miles?
Didn't think you hit kerbs. Did you get the video of whose fault it was0 -
Anything on the paperwork about test drive? Otherwise its prolly been ragged. Unless you have a dash cam or tracker don't think you will have any luck. I would get it to ANOTHER garage and have a replacement tyre. Might need to be an alloy specialist as the wheel looks buckled. Might even need a replacement alloy. Also, worth getting alignment checked with someone.
I assume you have had a bad experience with halfords in the past? What is a "Prolly" is a bit like a "brolly" or "wally"??
I wouldn't assume they have taken it for a test drive, there wouldn;lt be a requirement for that with only having a new tyre fitted and if they did surely you would have looked at the new tyre when it was fitted.
OP - Either way looks like that tyre has had impact damage to me, of which you must have notived for it do damage that much.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0 -

I would remember too if I had hit a pothole let alone the one which caused so much damage. I don't remember hitting any potholes or kerbs whatsoever.Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.

Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard.

This kind of damage is caused by only slight touching
Have seen it before and is often caused by some of the newer pavement edges
One of the worst for this is the kerb outside Bulgari in Knightsbridge the slightest touch when parking will do this kind of damage
If there is no cord damage or bulge then it should be safe to drive on. Have seen worse on emergency service vehicles.0 -

Once turning in the road at low speed, misjudged and kerbed the alloy. Once trying to avoid an oncoming driver who was taking a blind bend on the wrong side of the road. Twice being forced onto the kerb of a roundabout by a driver straight lining. I think just about everyone has done it once.
Also hit a large hole in 1998, where road works were being carried out without any signage, damaged the track rod end on my Pug 106.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Maybe you need to get out a bit more.
Or maybe other people should pay more attention when they're driving?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
