Deffo looks like it's caught something.
  • I wouldn't do much driving in that car with a tyre that badly damaged.
"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"
  • In the second photo down, it might be my imagination but it does also appear as if the rim which is just visible may be slightly misshapen. That would also indicate pothole to me. There also appear to be marks on the tyre wall itself which suggest it's impacted against 'a thing' to cause the damage.

Very much doubt it's worth the effort getting Halfords to look at it, I'd be 99.9% certain they'd say the same thing.

    Definitely looks like pothole damage.
  • I am not driving with this tyre on. I have replaced it with the spare for now. I am not saying it's impossible for me to hit a kerb but I think it is quite unlikely. I have not driven so much since I had them changed. I have my own parking space at home with no kerbs around it and same at work. I am just finding it hard to believe that a brand new and a good quality tyre will get so badly damaged.
I am very interested to know what everyone thinks caused this. May be its just bad luck. If it is my mistake then I will own up and pay for it myself without hassling the folks at Halfords.

No its just me and I don't even drive that much. I inspected the damage when I took the tyre off and it was quite deep.
