Evening all
Busy couple of days but paid stuff is done for the week.
Been walking, visited Mum, taken DS3 to the orthodentist, filled in another tax return (late so hope they don't penalise me) .
Aga went out yesterday due to the wind but I've got it going again now. DS2 has washed up, DS3 has fed the mogs, I've sorted out some donations for DS3 to take into school, cooked DS3's dinner.
Just cooking my dinner and sorting some laundry and then I need to reply to a few emails and renew a library book online. The flying seems to be missing at the moment but DS2 has changed his bed.
Wishing you all a pleasant evening and Bossy hope you ar ok after the dentist. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Baked bum holes :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
So I was at the dentist nearly an hour and a half (that why I was omg'ing, LW I was losing the will!) - the X-ray machine had a paddy and would not send my "photo" to the computer. Or the computer said no. Or something. Eventually we got there. It is an abscess - under the bloody crown I paid £200 for just 6 months ago. So I'm on two lots of antibiotics and he can't understand why I'm not howling in pain (err, the nerve was removed about 20years ago!).
Gah. So now I have to decide if I'm prepared to lose what's left of the tooth and have a full extraction (it's a molar at least, not a front tooth!) or I can see the specialist who will find out why the root canal has failed and might be able to do a new crown. And will cost around £350.
I don't know what to do for the best - I don't want a big gap - but I can't fork out another wad of cash without reassurance that it's unlikely to happen again in the near future.
Something has to be done - the antib's will clear it up, but it will come back eventually. Oh and I'm not allowed to drink on these, which puts the kibosh on me drowning my sorrows on Friday. Pfft.
My cousin is a dentist - I might text him for his opinion...
Anyhow. We've been out for tea with emigrating neighbours. Had a nice time, took my new tablets, kiddies had a play and now they are in bed so I'm having a brew. I'm also logged off the works laptop and it's staying off till Monday. So there.Bossymoo

Sorry to hear about your dental woes bossy, asking for a second opinion sounds the way Togo. I have been living with a large gap for a while now -on my introductory visit to Oncology I was told I had to avoid dental treatment whilst on chemo. The day before I started treatment my bridge fell out!
I have. An appointment booked in a couple of weeks. Part of me wants to get my mouth sorted, but we have a new dentist and this won't be an easy introduction....
After the busy day that was yesterday I have had a very quiet day. One look outside was enough to convince me it was a sofa day. Sadly that means my hands are tied and I have to go out tomorrow's to collect a sick note. So if you see me loitering on here tomorrow feel free to remind me that I have stuff to do tomorrow!!!!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
for not much more you could get an implant.. no crown, no recurrence.. I've got more gap than tooth.. I have hypoplasia a mild case but it means my teeth are very vulnerable.. cf punching me in the face did them no favours..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Morning all.
Glad its the bathroom list today. Will make a start once I've washed the breakfast dishes.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hat is amazing Pigpen and I bet you could do interesting things with fig rolls!!!
Bossy what a nightmare, at least its not painful, except for the cost. I would be tempted to loose the tooth if its at the back but good that you can ask your cousin for his opinion.
Had a nice catch up with my brother on the phone last night and did some Christmas shopping online. Made plans to go out with my Mum for a shopping day on Saturday.
Hopefully the forecast will be right for today, I have 2 loads of washing to go out.
Have a good Thursday everyone x0 -
Morning all
Love the uni kitty hat pigpen
Bossy ouch, second opinion sounds good as does pigpens suggestion
Iona figgy books sound brill-I like figrolls
Unexpectedly ended up going to see frank turner last night, ds1s friend who was supplying transport couldn't go so Ds asked me and Dh to join them as transport providers, it was brill, great atmosphere we were right near the front - not mosh pit more to the side, but so close we were getting free water handed out by stage crew - something he does apparently to st ones near front dehydrating.
Didn't get home till after all the street lights on our estate had been turned off so felt very strange.
Funniest bit was dd1 ring in as we got out to check we'd enjoyed ourselves and were OK - she was waiting up to ring us which I found funny.
Anyway better head of to work, I'll be stifling yarns all day and my ears are still buzzing.
Have a great day allSPC~12 ot 124
