Well I couldn't face the drive to Aldi so hobbled down to the Sainsburys we live behind (the fridge was bare - money came out of the food budget). I've been eating crackers today but am going to attempt some mashed potato for tea! I am feeling better though

The things I need to post and the cheque I want to pay in will have to wait until Monday

Hi all
Successful shopping trip. I finally bought some new cushions for the lounge, a year after we redecorated. £28 felt a bit extravagant but they are lovely (and in budget).
My OH is a saint. I am so fussy when it comes to house stuff, I know exactly what I want and refuse to compromise. I think we have eventually found some bathroom tiles which was surprisingly painless.
I have also found a lovely chest of drawers on ebay, exactly what I have been looking for for £20. Just hope no-one else bids.
I do need to update the spreadsheets tomorrow though. Glad you are feeling a bit better PrincessPea.0 -
Evening all, On our walk back from the theatre to the car we passed 2 co-0p's which were about 15/5 mins from closing, at the first I picked up some ys pizza's for 19p (will put these in the freezer for when the kids have friends over after school and just use them as a base for them to put other veggies on) and 2 x 4pinters of full fat milk for 39p each, will use some of this for making custard to go with apple pie for tomorrows lunch when the family come round. At the 2nd co0p I got 2 x4pack of yogurts at 49p & another 4 packs of 10 mini chocolate rolls for 75p each - just got to make sure I don't eat the lot now!!
It was a fab show tonight, enjoying a cuppa & catch up on mse before bed now

Morning all

I can't believe I didn't check back in last night. Sorry - the evening kind of got away from me a bit and I went to sleep after Casualty. And despite being up quite a few times during the night I didn't get up until half past seven - result :j And everyone else is still asleep - double result :j:j
So, quick update before I get on with today's list.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »

Bit disappointed with the whole 3-hours-at-gymnastics thing. I was so uncomfortable on my little plastic chair that I couldn't relax to read my book. I made lists for budgets, savings etc and generally planning for the future. Then when I got home I was so tired that I couldn't be bothered with anything at all...
Today's list:
 Tutoring
 Get dd to tumble class
 Visit my mam for catch up and a free feed
 Go through Christmas presents and make my final, final shopping list
 Batch cooking
 Sort out my ID for new basic bank account
 Cancel pet insurance and set up direct debit for money to go to a savings pot
 Look through muscle food (I have a £15 voucher)
 Try and find some stuff to eBay as I have free listings to use.
It's going to be another busy one.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning folks!
I spent most of the day crocheting yesterday and actually didn't make it out of my dressing gown
However, as this is totally unlike me, I figured that I needed the rest. I'm up, showered and perky this morning.
On the plus side, a poem appeared in my head which I was very pleased with. I have written it down; I may share at some point. It is about friendships between women.
Continuing from yesterday:- B/L/D from stores
- Scan PC using free anti-virus - harmful file removed
- Bought Christmas present for daddy using reserved funds - done
- Try to minimise energy usage but very unlikely to happen. - dreadful usage. Hate the new smart meter. Makes me feel guilty every time I turn the oven on.
- Ask OH to take random pieces of glass from his mum's to the shed. Apparently he is going to "make something" with them. The caveat is that they are going on ebay if this does not happen by the end of next summer.
- Using up stuff out of freezer to make room for Christmas party food - ate some soup last night
- Chop and cook some freebie cooking apples to make pie filling for alternatives to mince pies for party - done and in freezer
- Feed the Christmas cakes - done. Thumb now smells of rum!
- Bit of housework/pottering: clean small bathroom - half done/check OH's cleaning of big bathroom - seems ok/put away washing - done but more appearing/tidy round - ongoing/find some decluttering items/wash more jam jars - ongoing/perhaps some dusting - who am I kidding?

- Decluttering:
- Put a pretty whisky bottle and sleeve in the recycling. I had tried to sell on ebay but people uninterested as the whisky was no longer resident
;) - Little plastic jug for filling the iron (just do it straight from the tap)
- Dregs of a bottle of febreeze that I know I bought while still with my ex. I have been with my OH for 9 years...
- Random penny into the piggy bank
- Random handful of screws into the toolbox
- Broken jack plug - ask OH whether it can be fixed but suspect not - binned
- Today's decluttering - two pairs of wholey (holey!) disreputable socks
- Pretty much my entire paper printed photo collection. Kept one packet of assorted ones that made me smile, which is now in my memory box. Recycled the rest
- Two jam jars that had enormous fat dead spiders in them. I am not so desperate for jam jars that I need to fish out the grizzly contents (did attempt to shake them out but held in by webs)
- Put a pretty whisky bottle and sleeve in the recycling. I had tried to sell on ebay but people uninterested as the whisky was no longer resident
- OH has a paid gig tonight - remind him to send invoice when he wakes up
- Crochet. Had to undo two lines last night to to a small mistake. At least I spotted it fairly soon. - loads done
- New stuff today: get Christmas presents for Uncle and Aunt. Know what I'm looking for, just need to find online - made some lovely personalised mugs. Also found a code online for 20% off the order. Only £4 but every little helps!
- Bring chilli plants in for winter - check how many plant saucers I have before going to hardware shop
- Shop for Christmas party food with OH when he wakes up
- Make truffles
- Make more bread rolls for party
- OH spotted a weird transaction on his mobile account. Sorted straight away. Top marks to him

Have a good one all - stay safe in the windy weather

Hi all
Just taken the dog for a nice walk, bit breezy out there but dry thankfully. No football today as the pitch is waterlogged. We were supposed to be travelling 40 miles to an away team so I am actually quite relieved.
My boy is 17 tomorrow. Cant quite believe that. We might stretch to a takeaway for tea, we are giving him £30 cash and with some bits to open and going out with friends yesterday we have probably spent another £30. He is a good lad though and doesnt ask for much.
Right, OH and I are supposed to be clearing out the cupboard in the utility room which seems to be gathering a lot of junk and I have abandoned him to it so I better go and help.0
