    Hi Again

Put the monster in her sling she loves it in there. Swear she'd live in it given the chance. And with hands free have managed
    A load of washing
    Load dishwasher
Sweep whole of the downstairs (hoover is broken)
Declutter dining room. This room is a bit of a multi functional space. I have an office but when OH works from home he likes to have the computer downstairs. So our beautiful oak dining table and benches which is massive (seats 8 at each bench and has extending panels if you want them) is generally used as a dumping ground for reciepts, paperwork, etc. Then son does his homework there which means pencil shavings, bits of paper half cut up, etc. Husband is also an epic doodler so I find cartoons all over the place too. I basically got rid of all the junk and then dusted and swept up. 3 bicycles in and out and 2 buggies (only really using 1 right now) makes for a lot of dust and bits.

OH just got home from his erands and went 'wow tidy in here' so I feel validated :)

Princess - you poor thing. Hope you feel better soon. Food poisoning is hideous.

Yorkshire - early rising for no good reason is the curse of the working person I think. Have fun at the DIY shop if you do go.

It is very sad about the situation in Paris. There is so much sadness in the world right now. Thoughts are with anyone who is affected directly by any of the losses.

Had a letter from CB people to say they've increased it by £13 a week for DD. However I do know we will lose some of it at some point as OH earns over the limit but not enough to lose it entirely. Do they write to you seperate about that? I ticked the box to say he was a higher tax payer on the form.

    Afternoon all,

    :coffee:

I just got up. :o The storm awoke me in the night and so my OH let me sleep in. Unfortunately this meant I missed ParkRun. Sigh.

    Poor France...very sad.

    Debt-Free Nillionaire Month 6:

    *
Clean house with minimum of products. Stardrops and washable cloths.

    * Contacted Quidco through Facebook. I'm trying to verify some cashback but the name of my Insurer isn't in their dropdown list.

    * Going to wee local cinema later to see "Hotel Transylvania 2". Will smuggle in our own snacks and drinks.

    * Advertised old fridge on Gumtree.

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Bit of a late check in, but better late than never :) busy busy as ever, was Christmas shopping yesterday so didn't get chance to post. Will catch up on thread later. This weekend I have/will:

    Go for free run
    Washing shuffle continues :o
Meals from stores, sausage casserole in slow cooker with one of those slow cooker sachets - wouldn't normally use one but it was free on COS
Use last if tomatoes from garden in lieu of a tin
    Quick tidy round
Update main spreadsheet as it was payday yesterday, move money to appropriate accounts
Update present sheet with yesterday's haul and work out what I need
Get old clothes from loft to label for next weeks sale
Get last years cards out so I can make labels to start wrapping presents
May go and use NT membership tomorrow if it's dry so girls can run around

Be very appreciative of all that we have, there will be some very sad people this weekend after tragic events across the water :(

    Check back later, Jonno :)

Had a result. Son wanted a game from TRU that was £28 in the shop. I did a quick check on flea bay and found it for £8 someone was selling it without the case! It's a xbox 360 disk. Nice fat £20 still in his birthday kitty. We only found it by selecting order cheapest first in the search terms list so that's a tip for anyone who is new to the delights of the website :)

    Hello Frugal Friends,
    A few things things today:
*Bought lining (less than £4) & posted to family member with skirt for re-lining. Lots of wear left in it. Don't want to throw it away.
*Bought last 3 small gifts. It is so focusing making a gift list & I'm sure we spend a lot less as a result.
*Finished this week's grocery shopping at local market, deli & Waitrose. Was pleased to find we came in at £5 under budget. Waitrose overcharged us by 75p. A more expensive item scanned twice & a less expensive item not scanned at all. Asked for refund.
*Free coffees with Waitrose loyalty card.
*Needed 200g dried cranberries for a present I'm making. Picked up 2 x 100g bags in healthy dried foods section then happened to notice 200g bags in the baking aisle for the same price as a 100g bag of the others. Duly swapped!
*Dinner from meal plans using various things from freezer along with salad & a tray of mr f's lovely jacket wedges.
    *Found 5p roadkill.
*Remembered to use double points receipt in Superdrug.
*Squidged down the garden in my cagoule (ooh, the allure!) to cut 2 lettuces.
The main thing today has been behavioual. Been to a really lovely Christmas Craft & Food Fair at a castle in neighbouring county. Free to get in this weekend. Took picnic so only bought a coffee. Loved looking around. Instead of the vast sums the old me would have spent, our only purchase was a hand crafted oil burner from a local potter & we used some money we received for our anniversary to pay for it, so no effect on the budget :-)
Love to all, especially stressed & poorly people. I dont have small people to wake me up, either, but this role is fulfilled by Cat scraping the door down & yowling :-(

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Afternoon all,

    Thanks for the starter CCL.
So sad hearing about Paris this morning.

Its been very wet and wild again here today but we've had a good day anyway :)
:starmod: Used free tickets from our gym (celebrating two years since opening) to take my ds's, sister, niece and dad swimming at the local pool :)
:starmod: Parked car at my parents and walked to the pool which was a win-win as didn't have to pay parking and got a bit of extra exercise with the walk :):)
:starmod: Brunch at my parents : free food :)
:starmod: My dad, niece and ds1 had a course in preparation for their karate grading and when they got back they were hungry so we had a chicken curry there as an early tea :)
:starmod: Boys sleeping over there tonight as me & dh are going to the theatre to see one of our fave comedians (tickets bought last year as a xmas pressies to each other (bought tickets to see 4 different shows :) )
:starmod: Called in at the co0p and used a 50p off £3 coupon, bought a ys 6 pack of skips for 29p, 2 ys punnets of grapes @ 65p/each, witches broom of mini rolls reduced from £3 to 75p, bought 4, will wrap 3 of them for kids for xmas eve box and dh devouring one as I type! :)
:starmod: Will park car again near my parents and walk to the theatre rather then pay for parking
:starmod: picked up snacks to sneak into the show, rather then pay £2.50+ each for an ice cream later!,
:starmod: Signed up to a 3 day trial for ds2 for a website that his teacher recommended that may help with his reading/writing
    :starmod: A yougov survey done
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
