Hi, I did the telephone meeting thing this evening for the first time. Got my first telephone interview night. Can anyone tell me what they might ask? I'm very nervous. I'm hoping to get the tech support job from home.

    Thanks

The interview call is more about guaging your experience in supporting and interfacing others, don't panic, think about your answers before you give them and try to relax. It's not exactly the most painful interview in the world lol.

Just a few notes for the newbies

You will be asked to get a Scotland Disclosure certificate which costs £20 (teletech reimburse you)

You will be required to have your ID verified by a solicitor (ring round i got mine done for £5)

If you have no Driving license or passport you will need a long Birth Certificate. (i have had to order mine and i'm still waiting!)

The soft pad phone and headset are supplied by teletech. Probably worth your while getting a cheap corded speakerphone for your first week of training.

You may need a belkin 10/100 adapter if your ethernet card is not accepted(apparently teletech tech support send these out) i bought mine of ebay for £4 including postage

    Hope these few tips help

its quite standard questions how to deal with a difficult customer? a time when you turned a situation around also you may be asked about your work space, what hours you can work etc. my best advice would be to go through the previous threads ,you'll probably find answers for just about any question regarding the process. it certainly helped me .

The Skill assessment part wasn't working for me. Went to Live Help, mentioned it in the interview, called 3 times!! Only to receive an email saying I'm unsuccessful!!! And there is no way of actually emailing them.

I don't understand how I can be unsuccessful if I didn't undertake the assessment due to no fault of mine!
  • i have my first telephone interview this evening too shaneo85, best of luck! thanks to wildt and melfly, paulk and jax66 for their help, much appreciated.x and a HUGE thankyou to oliver for starting this thread!!!:T
