A real work at home job

I just spoke to Ellen and I am now officially hired :j
Have to go to my company solicitor next week to get my ID verified, but that won't be a problem. Hirepack and workbooth CD should be with me for Saturday.
I have a featurephone here at home which, I hope, is suitable for the first few weeks until the issued phone and headset arrive.
So, all that remains now is to wait until 4th August at 4.30.
Can I wish everyone luck who are on the same course as me, and also those applying and going through the interview process at the moment.0 -
I also start on the 4th of August, am a little confused about the phone/headset setup. When I asked my recruiter if I need to purchase a headset compatible phone she said the headset plugs straight into the phone socket. Not sure if she misunderstood me or not.
Can someone please explain the setup and recommend any headset compatible phones.
Greatly appreciate it.
Aarron
Just to clear something up for you guys, TeleTech do not send out a headset and phone, They send our a wired headset with dialpad which connects directly into the telephone socket. You do not need a phone with mute for training as when logged in to Meetingplace if you press #5 it will mute and #5 to un-mute again. A phone with speaker will be a great advantage to you as trust me holding a phone for the duration of the training becomes very annoying and painful.
Invest in a notepad, as there will be a lot of things that you will need to write down regarding products and such.
As well as dialling in for training you will also need access to Meetingplace online, if this doesnt work through windows for you then use workbooth.
Anything else then just ask
Good Luck0 -
the headset and phone are usually sent out in the second or third week of training - until then I, and most others used just an ordinary phone with a louspeaker and mute button (very important) (It is tiring trying to hold a phone to your ear for 6 hrs lol) -- don't use a cordless phone as more often than not the battery will run out.
Just a quick note, Cordless phones are NOT allowed at all whatsoever due to confidentiality and security, also whilst you are training/working there is only you allowed in the room, and only you that can see the screen.
Just thought id mention that lol0 -

cheers for the info jay, would you recommend getting a phone that has a headset port? or is what teletech send out enough? is the headset a double headset? i like these better and use one with my current employer and was thinking of using that with teletech and buying a headset compatible phone.
cheers again0 -
The double headset and base provided is fine for the job, you must
only use there equipment when live call taking.
the only thing worth buying is a cheap speaker-phone from Argos
for use while your in training and are waiting for the teletech headset
to arrive.0 -
Anyone aware of what the requirements are for internally applying for the sales position if you are already on the technical role? I know you have to wait at least 6 months, aside from that will it be necessary to do all the checks / get references etc all over again or is it quite seemless since they already have all that? The hours for sales would be better, thanks for any help!!0
-
I don't think you would need to go get new references no
but you would still need to pass the interview etc, like a new
applicant would, give it a whirl if its better for your lifestyle0 -
New Hire pack came today
Just wondering if some one can help me on the technical side of things. I've decided I will use my laptop instead of my computer for this since the computer is so far away from the telephone socket.
My laptop has just passed the technical assessment even though I'm wireless at the minBut I need to work out how to get it wired..
I'm with Sky broadband and have a Netgear Router. My laptop has two sockets RJ-45 network jack and RJ-11 modem jack.
What cable do I need to purchase??
Thanks in advance!0 -
Hey guys!
Have my meeting at half four today to (hopefully start training 4th August)...thing is, I have done the little Cisco meeting room test, and it always fails on the connect to server (the little green bar part).
The troubleshooting link seems to not work, and I have downloaded and installed the add-in several times...anyone else have this issue?
Looks like I'll be audio only for the meeting!0 -
Passed both assessments and will be having my 45 minute interview tomorrow.
Please send me some luck!I believe in dragons, fairies, good men and other mythical creatures!0
