I have received the above letter and as far as I can tell the training hours are as stated in the letter then your available hours kick in after training.
They asked me several times if I could do these hours just for training.
Some times all you need to get along is nothing at all.
    :p

The training times during the week are set and cannot change, if you cannot make training during the week then you may not have any other oppurtunity as there are only a limited number of trainers and a limited number of scheduled training sessions. Once training is complete you will be offered hours from within the timescale you stated as being available in. I'm suprised that at no point were you told what time the training would be as they normally do.

I've read this thread from beginning to end.

I applied through the hirepoint website a couple of weeks back, completed PC test successfully, completed skills assessment successfully. Invited to group interview on Friday 11th April at 6pm, then scheduled for one-to-one interview immediately after. Interviewer called me at around 7.15pm, seemed to go fine, then I got a rejection email yesterday and a Workbooth CD through the post.

I don't get it. I have 11 years experience in customer service roles, I'm very technical, I'm available for any shifts (in fact, as many hours as possible), I'm 25 years old (in case that matters?!), and, wait for it, I currently work as a full time tech support agent, in a call centre, for a major UK ISP (one of Sky's major competitors in fact), and have been in this position for the past 18 months! I was prepared to resign from this job and work @home for TeleTech.

Not blowing my own trumpet here, but if experience, flexibility, skill and drive are not the ideal qualities that TeleTech are looking for in their staff it begs there question - just what qualities are they looking for?

jammin - sorry to hear that. maybe it is because you are currently working for a competitor. maybe your current contract states that you are not able to work for a competitor for a certain amount of time after you leave the company. an awful lot of companies put this clause in your contract. Why not try for the inbound sales role instead (they are currently offering more hours - up to 30 now i believe). it may be worth a shot and as its a different position to your current one it might make a difference?? just an idea.

I don't think my current contract with [insert major UK ISP here] does have such a clause, but even if it did, wouldn't that be my problem? Can't see that being their reason for rejecting me, somehow.

I might, thanks for the idea. That said, if Teletech were interested in me they might have offered this.

What's weird is, the guy who interviewed me was sound - we even had a laugh about them being in Colorado, and all I know about Colorado is South Park. Then he tells me that actually where they are is only a few miles from the actual town that South Park is allegedly based on. You know? We had a chuckle together, built rapport. Strange.

maybe, if you have received a workbooth cd, you received the wrong email?
have you emailed back and checked?

Hello again, I've got a couple more questions!

I did read the whole of this thread before I filled in my original application last week and I've just tried again to get some answers but I didn't get very far!

Do you get paid while you're training?
Can anyone recommend a cheap and reliable router for NTL/Virgin broadband that is a direct connection?...I think the Netgear RP614 was mentioned somewhere because for some reason I've got that written on a post-it note on my desk and I can't remember why?!

I've got the online meeting thingy later today so I might 'see' some of you there!

    Thanks lots.

    Thank you O' Speccy one:beer:

I'll hang on and see if anyone else replies about the router before I dust off my Switch card!
