hi all, passed my assessments
did the group interview thingy tonight
got my own interview tomorrow att 6.30pm
am kinda cacking myself, lol
not had an interview for at least 10 years(which is when i left work to have my first born), i am a little worried of what questions they will ask etc, i wish i knew someone in a role where they could give me a mock interview
can anyone pm me with ideas of questions etc they may be likely to ask?
im just really nervous that i wont be good enough or whatever
Don't worry - you'd really have to sit there and say nothing not to pass. They really do have low targets for employment....very low. If you turn up, you're in.
I notice you have kids - be aware that they always want agents for the 4pm onwards slot as this is the busiest time - they are always full up with agents for the later (7pm onwards) times so they will probably want agents from 4pm onwards.0 -
Yes there has but it's the same people over and over again.
Negativity from people who found the job wasn't for them and left.
We were never really given the chance to see if the job was for us or not and decided that due to the issues which I have "!!!!!ed on about" as you so respectfully put it, decided that the company was not for me.
For the record, the job is kosher, I have never said that it wasn't.Are Teletech the perfect employer ? Nope-such an animal doesn't exist. Anyone who thinks they do is dellusional.
Quite correct and I am getting a bit tired of your tirade in making it out that I was expecting something exceptional and brilliant. I wasn't - I was looking for them to have the ability to communicate and be honest and professional. None of which seem to have been the case for one reason or another for ME.That being said they offer training appropriate to the job, supervisors who are helpful and supportive.
The training was not appropriate in our group and session. I am not going to go over these issues again as people can read at their leisure in my other posts. There have been people other than me saying the same thing from my group, yet others seem far better qualified to tell others that we are "!!!!!ing on about it" for nothing when they were not there. The job delivers what is says on the tin -and they treat their employees with respect. That's my personal experience-mind you I have stuck around a wee while longer than one day out of training then quitting like some on this thread.
ooh another dig at me, I am really getting tired of this. Why not just keep to the facts. Yes, I am sure that when the technology works and you have got your skills up to deal with calls on your own, it does what it says on the tin and I do not understand where I have said differently. Its all the stuff that comes before that is where the problems lie.To be honest I don't get it......I've had jobs before which haven't been a good fit-and I've left fairly quickly -but then I moved on-I didn't dwell on it or b%tch-or put down the people who are happy with it and are getting on with it. I went elsewhere and got on with MY life.
What a joke. I am not dwelling on this, I am running my other company and doing it quite successfully. I am posting because I for one want to ensure that others went into it with their eyes open. As you have been doing it for such a long time, what makes you so sure that our induction was anything but rubbish. Let me guess, your friends with the trainer and he has said, I did a good job?
All I can say is that you are fixated with trying to undermine the issues that we had when you have no experience in what we went through. You are towing the company line and whilst I believe that there are many happy workers there - new applicants need to be aware of the attitude of the company, the inability to communicate and all the other issues that people have had.
The signs are there from the start - wrong meeting times, meeting room not working, telephone systems crashing, people needing a disc for their work, it taking a week and still no sign. Its not painting a very good picture but as long as you can work in your slippers, you are happy.
Now will you stop "!!!!!ing about me" and refrain from disrespecting me in any further posts when you have had absolutely no involvement with the problems our group entailed. Your only source of knowledge will be from a biased view of your colleagues.STP Stats 7/2/08 - £7.05 - 164 tracks reviewed - accuracy 92.3% - Average Rating = 5.4 and ***0 -

Hi rach glad to hear it's going well upto now
best tip for the interview is to just be your
self, stay postive and try to keep the flow
of the interterview going, dont dwell on any
negtives, and good luck!0 -
Come on guys can we end all this cat fighting PLEASE!
Those who have posted and felt the job wasn't for them
have made there opinions known, and I wish them all the
best in whatever there going to do next
we don't need to have a battle between those who like the
job and those that didn't.
Rach's post above it what this thread is meant to be about
people applying and deciding for themselves on the job,
and wanting a little help and support along the way.0 -
apparently some of the sales are mandatory 22 hours and others are mandatory 25 hours. my recruiter has asked me to send the email i got and is looking into it.0

Completely agree Oliver. People should be able to find out for themselves what is involved. I do not expect my posts to be attacked purely because I have expressed a different opinion.
Unfortunately, the only people that have any actual knowledge of what we went through were the 15 people in the training, which I appreciate may be hard to take by some people who want to talk like they were there.STP Stats 7/2/08 - £7.05 - 164 tracks reviewed - accuracy 92.3% - Average Rating = 5.4 and ***0 -
Monday Blues-We did the SAME training-with the SAME trainer. Are you honestly claiming one training was entirely different to another ? We too had some people who "got it" and others who needed things explained more than once.
As for my customer service skills they are certainly good enough for multi-nationals like General Electric who set a very high benchmark for CS both internally and externally-although maybe that answers part of your question-that I'm accustomed to the US style of training so adapted better to that particular style than you did?
I'm not trying to fight with you but I am bemused at our two experiences been such polar opposites. I am generally very critical of stuff like training having run training courses in the past but for a mixed ability group I think it was certainly adequate. Not fabulous but it did what it was supposed to do-educated me enough to go live on the phones and handle calls and I'm certainly not a techy! I've learned a heck of a lot more since I went live-and for me that's great-I like a job where you continue to learn and expand your knowledge.
I wish you luck with your business and I hope it makes you happy and is one day successful.
Rach don't worry about the interview-just be yourself. If you want to prepare then most interviews have a question asking about a previous situation you gave exceptional service or handled a difficult customer so have an answer in mind for that(doesn't need to be work related if you've been out of the market for a while) and you'll be prepared. And the other tip for any phone interview is SMILE even though the interviewer can't see you-smiling whilst talking on the phone lifts your whole voiceI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Duchy: you cannot say you did the SAME training, as you were not on his course and therefore you do not know the content of his training course, although yours (with the same trainer) might have been ok.0 -
Thats a hard question to answer Nic, guess it depends
how much you take home in a full time job
I think the most you can do is around 32hrs, I only do
24 as I study part-time too, guess you have to think whats
best for you keep in mind the hours arnt 9-5 though
Thanks for your reply Oliver, I'm not expecting to get as big a salary as I was getting before i got made redundant... I'm just looking to keep the bills paid!
The job being odd hours is not a problem for me as my partner works shifts so if I work when he works then we get more time together, I've spent the last couple of weeks in a 9-5 temp job and I nearly forgot what he looked like!
Another question, Do you have to do the same pattern of hours every week?
The ideal hours for me would be anything between 5am-1pm with a couple of extra hours possibly in the afternoon as well for one week and then between 1pm and 10pm the next week.

Hi, I am only starting training on Monday but to be honest, I have never heard of the hours 5am to 1pm being mentioned anywhere on this forum - perhaps someone will correct me though. Most of the hours for this job seem to be from 4pm to 11pm during the week and the saturdays and sundays daytime.Auddel0
