You are quite correct with the toilet breaks, we were told that we had to hold on until scheduled break time. Under no circumstances should you use auxilary was his exact words if I remember correctly.
I felt that they would not sort my shifts out and that was one of the reasons that I was being distracted from what I was doing and the lengthy wait times for help or the short answers were not always the most helpful but you could see they were doing their best.
By the sounds of it, your friend must be feeling relief of not working lol.
I think she just wants the disk and to get back into it. At least she is giving it a good go! She must be mad to stand it longer than us! They are very bad at sorting out shifts and I know that she wants a weekend day changed also and is still waiting. Wonder if she will update us she has been quiet on here recently.0 -
I've just posted on the sales thread to say that I have just turned the job down - after reading this I am so glad that I made that decision.0

well i havent yet heard back from the sales trainer regarding the fact they keep upping the minimum hours for the role (although i appreciate it is still quite early over there). So i have also emailed my recruiter as she is pretty quick at getting back to questions. Am glad i am not the only one who is a little put out over it. will post again when i get a response.
Just a thought - im sure the contract stated 22 hours? will have to have a look unless someone else knows??0 -

I think some of you comments are out of order personally,
also why do you feel the need to hide your identity?
and come on here posting negative and in my experience
minority experiences, the fact remains that the majority of staff
on the project have stayed and are still working happily enjoying
the benefits of working from home, OK some people just don't
suit the job for whatever reason I can understand that you probably
one of them people
I find it abit odd that over the past week there been negative
posts appearing from MSE users who have just joined, considering
before then all the way back to Aug last year "sour grape posts"
were unseen here maybe I am just reading to much into it
with regards to hours they can not simply be just changed
there are certain levels of staffing that have to be maintained
at certain times of the day, so shift changes are not something
easily changed
But since I started working in Sept there have been two shift bids that
have given agents the opportunity to change shifts, but
considering weekends are peak periods its reasonable to
accept you will have to work one or both depending on
the staff demand
In my opinion this job is still the only real opportunity to earn a
reasonable amount of money working from home, but please make
sure your willing to work inside the hours mention on the hirepoint
site when you apply.0 -
#Yeah you should be fine then, I order a few things from
America and 3-5 working days is about right for their equivalent
of airmail, let us know how you get on.
did you manage to try it on the other laptop you had?
I did try workbooth on spare laptop and it went straight to windows. I also changed the system to boot from cd first but still no luck. I have found the tech team very helpful once my problem was highlighted to them which took four days of constant emails and calls to live call - but hopefully all will be sorted when I get the Belkin adapter.Auddel0 -

On my first interview Amy said that the actual job would be 19 hours per week. On second interview Mike said this had been changed to 22 hours per week. On the email today you have to reply and agree to do 25 hours per week. Am slightly miffed that they keep changing the goal posts about this - after all 5 hour shifts in the evening when you have a family is a long time (i did this in a call centre so i know this). But needs must and i have emailed the trainer to ask for confirmation of the hours they want - i dont want to go all the way through training to be told it has gone up again as this would make it impossible for me.
Anyway moan over lol! am still looking forward to training starting on Monday just needed to have a whinge!
Hi - my email today said my training is 4 hours for 5 days a week which is 20 hours and my available hours when hired (I assume that means after training) is 22 hours per week- wonder why there is such a difference in the training hours between some of us

I couldn't disagree more Oliver,
The person clearly does not want their name to be known and that is their right.
You find it strange that there has been a lot of negativity surrounding this role and maybe you are taking it personally because you were the one who have allowed so many people to take advantage of this employment. It is no reflection on you so do not get so defensive.
I do not feel in any of my posts that I have ever said that this was a scam or not a genuine opportunity to earn money from home. You will find plenty of reference to a like it or lump it attitude which is now coming through in the tone of your posts.
This is a public forum and people have the right to post their concerns and issues with this employment and it seems as though you are uncomfortable with the fact that people have spoken out about their issues.
When people give their working preferences and these are not confirmed until you are 3 weeks in and you find out you cannot work them, its hardly fair on the employee is it and it should be expected that someone will speak up.
We are then told that someone who needs the workbooth disc is left for a week with no way of working and there are reports from other previous employees that trying to speak to anybody is almost impossible.
People that are happy there have no reason to fear or be concerned with these posts as they are comfortable with what they are doing and maybe the standards were higher back then.
Those people that are applying now or thinking about applying will see the patterns that we have seen - although I hope they do not in one respect because this role will help some people.
Misleading information, technology breaking down, meeting rooms not working, communications saying one thing and then something else happening are just some of the signs to watch out for - let people keep an open mind and see what their experience is.
Its just poor imho in terms of the attitude of the company and approach. It's even poorer for you to come on here and try to gag someone for wanting to bring their frustrations to the table. All you are concerned about is outing them.
You state that we should be willing to work inside the hours stated on the hirepoint website. There were no hours specified at the time we applied and the hours we stated to our recruiters to say when we were available were met with a response of, "thats OK, we will get you onto the training when the suitable hours are available" and I even have an email confirming this. So, its not unreasonable to expect that the hours you have asked for (if you were so specific as this person was) to have been fully considered.
Its about time people in this world took accountability for what they do and stop trying to put the onus onto others to hide their shortcomings.STP Stats 7/2/08 - £7.05 - 164 tracks reviewed - accuracy 92.3% - Average Rating = 5.4 and ***0 -
No probs were all allowed to have our opinion's of course
Just think its odd that us long time posters like me, PaulK
and Duchy haven't had any of these issues that seem to
have appeared over the past few weeks, and we have more
staff on the project than we have had before, so that shows
it cant be that bad
anyway thats all I will say on the matter, I am not going to
turn this thread into a flaming war after all the time I and others
have put into it.0 -
I think some of you comments are out of order personally,
also why do you feel the need to hide your identity?
Oh come on Oliver - this is TELETECH!!! You've read the warnings - even YOU know what they say....
I find it abit odd that over the past week there been negative
posts appearing from MSE users who have just joined, considering
before then all the way back to Aug last year "sour grape posts"
were unseen here maybe I am just reading to much into it
You obviously didn't see my post back in Feb then....
with regards to hours they can not simply be just changed
there are certain levels of staffing that have to be maintained
at certain times of the day, so shift changes are not something
easily changed
Unless THEY want you to change it, even AFTER you've agreed a Shift and they then FORCE you into a Shift Bid. But after they've done that, then YES, it is 'not something easily changed"
But since I started working in Sept there have been two shift bids that
have given agents the opportunity to change shifts, but
considering weekends are peak periods its reasonable to
accept you will have to work one or both depending on
the staff demand
"Oportunity" that's an odd word...you are told that Shift Bids are MANDATORY - that's not 'opportunity' that's DEMAND...
In my opinion this job is still the only real opportunity to earn a
reasonable amount of money working from home, but please make
sure your willing to work inside the hours mention on the hirepoint
site when you apply.
And also make sure that you are willing to change them when they insist that you do - which they will. Guaranteed.0 -
You may have had very good experiences and its like anything - it will not be perfect all the time and I am not on here to say that what you have done is bad or wrong.
It may actually help by people being more aware of what should be expected. The job advertisements have become clearer on what hours you will be required.
Nothing worse than false expectations. I am not here to argue with anybody either and you have given lots of people support which is the ethos of this community and thank you for recognising that our experience has clearly not been the same as yours.STP Stats 7/2/08 - £7.05 - 164 tracks reviewed - accuracy 92.3% - Average Rating = 5.4 and ***0
