ive read your post and im sorry that the job didnt work out for you. however i felt i had to say a few things about your comments about your trainer. i had the same trainer and the same training as you did , and have been happily working for the company since last october as have the rest of my training group. training was great fun,and informative, and while i agree that it is daunting and scary for the first couple of nights taking live calls, it gets easier every night as your confidence and knowledge grows and the help available, superusers, team room and help rooms are fantastic

im sorry that you felt the need blame the company/training/trainers for the fact it didnt work out for you but the facts are that we have all had the same training and the majority of us have turned into successful, competant csrs, obviously there will always be a minority who cant do the job, but thats the same with any job and not the company/trainer fault!! its a sink or swim world out there!!!!

 and yaay to oli and paul for all their help, please you guys click the THANKS button to thank them thats what its there for!!!!!

id have to say bluemonday, i would agree with belfast child.
i had the same trainer, and i found him to be imformative and funny.
perhaps, reading your posts, you had a problem with him in particular, and not necessarily the company, or the actual training?
  • Just been thinking about the hours available through teletech ... is there anyway I can work anywhere near 35-40hrs ?? ... like a fulltime job?

Please, please, please mr or mrs lovely all caring universe ... let me find something at home!:A:cool:
Specify your hours to your recruiter and no doubt they will try to accommodate you. Training is 18 hrs per week @ £6 ph (fri-sun). After training you will initially work 25-30 hrs so your income will drop for those weeks.

I had the same trainer and I certainly didn't find him informative or funny. I didn't have a problem with him. I didn't know him and I wasn't going to suck up to him and pretend that his crued jokes were funny. Maybe its my sense of humour. I wasn't there to be entertained. I was there to be taught about the job and I felt that I didn't get that. I am of the old school network. "You are there to learn, not to f*** around".
  • Got my workbooth cd and it works, wuhoooooooo.

I am due to attend yet another online meeting today at 2pm,again i am waiting for an email with the link so i can attend.Does any one know if i can use the previous link i received the other day?
  • I find it quite concerning that an awful number of people seem to know who I am when my details with the company should be confidential and that employees of this company are now jumping into the spot light about this trainer.

I found the bloke as a person, very nice and somebody you could have a pint with but unfortunatley, I found his professionalism to work severely lacking. I am pleased that there are people that have gone through training and done OK with the company as I was purely posting my opinion and experience of what I had gone through.

I did not need the job to be fair, it was a bit of extra play money for me but nothing that was going to make a massive difference to my way of life.

You all seemed to have been trained in the past and maybe my expectations of the training was too high or maybe the trainer was having a bad week or is just using the poor tools that they have been given to the best of their ability.

From the sounds of it, the trainer has has a successful period of doing the job that all you guys are doing and all I would say is that

The best teachers do not make the best head masters and the best nurses or doctors make the best practice or hospital managers.

Seriously, I am not wanting to get into a reputation destroying or ego building argument because my aim for these posts is to just maybe benefit TT by ensuring that peoples expectations are managed at the outset and that they may be expected to try and follow out of date material without full support if they fall behind and that they should expect that they will be let loose on the unsuspecting public with telephony that is constantly crashing (note posts about it happening in the interviews) and also that the shifts you request may not be what you get and if you cannot fit to them then you will be likely to asked to reapply again.

So please do not try to jump on me with the almighty we (TT) are perfect line as no company is perfect. What defines a good company is how they handle their people and issues when they arise and how they balance this with the customers needs.

  • Just had my first telephone interview -- was easier than I thought actually:cool: ... although I do think I might have bored the lovely lady I spoke to with my long explanation of things, haha!:D

Just have to wait for the dial in one with a hiring manager this evening ... so far so good!:T
