Morning all (just!)
Just a quick note to say:
Glad you're safe, Dizzy.
Nice to see you back with us, missymoo.
Happy new furbabies, froddy - picture please!
GWS to Little Miss Moo, and hope you're feeling better, bossy.
Woo-hoo! to your new boiler, nicki :T
Hope your freezer arrives soon, lynne.
Sorry you're dogless for a while, LW, but at least you have a good one to look forward to.
Well done on the ebeast sales, pigpen.
We went to the surgery for our travel jabs yesterday only to be told after a half an hour wait that the nurse is ill and the next appointment they could offer us is in 3 weeks, by which time we shall have gone away  A few phonecalls later, I have booked the jabs we need at a pharmacy at Merry H€ll at 2 pm today. That's another afternoon and a few ££££ lost...
Nothing much else to report here. I've spent the morning at SW with DH, who is tired and grumpy (but lost another lb this week :A) instead of coming home and working, but he is out again this evening so I will play catch-up them instead of [STRIKE]watching[/STRIKE] falling asleep in front of the TV. Waiting for a reply to one of the emails I sent yesterday evening; the other person has already sent a positive responseso that goes some way towards completing an application form. I also need a copy of of a certificate, rang the office concerned yesterday morning and got a reply in the afternoon to say that they had found the record, put a copy in the post and would waive the normal fee :A - some people are so nice!
Right, I'll see how much I can get done in the next 30 min before making us an early lunch so that we don't miss the jabs appointment
See you all later x0 -
All stockings made with loops and tags on and I did some mending so will put the machine away now and make a start on the room.SPC~12 ot 124

Well, I got the necessary jabs (at a price) but the pharmacist couldn't do the same for DH because he is on Warfarin - not her fault, nor his, but maddening! He called in at the GP surgery on the way home and has been told that if he turns up at 08.30 on Friday they will fit him in. I'm out all that day so it wouldn't have been possible for me anyway, but how come they will suddenly make room for him when yesterday they said that they had no appointments for 3 weeks?
We are seriously considering changing to another practice, but I think he'd better get the jabs done first!
Another afternoon gone...0 -
Iona.. I found today has simply flown.. the tiler has decided he can come tomorrow rather than Thursday so I'm in MAJOR kitchen panic mode.. It will be worth it I know it will but its very short notice.. though that gives me less time to fret about it!
By the weekend I should have a beautiful kitchen!! I cannot wait!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

You won't recognise your own house soon :rotfl:0 -
it's not actually been too bad here for gloominess.. I had a couple of days of raging pmt last week.. AF is a no show (it does this a lot.. goes on sabbatical for up to 3 months before anyone starts making assumptions!) but at least I am behaving like a human being again.. despite my shouty morning.. I was (and am) just VERY tired.
and I am really hoping I do not recognise my house.. it is an ugly place to be and I want it to be beautiful. Show home would be a pipe dream but surfaces and floors visible will be lovely .. I just need to keep watching those OCCleaner type programmes.. they spur me on.. I have found my motivation!
TD and WM and DW all on again..
After dinner the last few mini appliances can go upstairs, the DW can be redone and be turned on once the breakfast is finished in morning to clear the surfaces fully.
We have parents meeting at nursery tomorrow at 12.. I think they are going to be saying she is lovely BUT VERY challenging and time consuming and a bit cheeky!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Evening all
I hope your days have been more productive than mine! Although I did get groceries on my way home.
Mini moo is going back to school tomorrow- she has been dancing most of the day apparently. MIL took her for hair snipping in the end to get her out. And fish n chips for lunch??? Poorly?
I'm WFH tomorrow which is nice - a peaceful day in order with 2 key pieces of work that need my attention then I can start my CV.
Restructuring (again) at work so my role is at risk (again) so I need to prepare. Redundancy is a possibility and I'm not too horrified by the prospect:eek: I've almost 20yrs service so it would be a reasonable payout and I could retrainBossymoo

Evening all
Not achieved much here, one of those mildly frustrating days. I did get stuck into a task I've been putting off at the paid stuff and made great progress.
Need to ring my mother, wash up, put DW on and WM on and read some minutes before the day is done.
Ionfan, hope you are ok post jabs and that DH gets his done soon.
Bossy nice possi attitude there re redundancy. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Hopefully they won't charge me the £30 for the privilege! Consequently have pence in my bank account!!!!!! Going to have to pay my cheque for £40 in that I was saving for an emergency, and pick up extra bits in Aldi and hope for the best! Blimmin Xmas pushing everything to the limit, need to do a you Pigpen and get flea baying!!!!!
If they DO charge you ring them up and ask nicely that given it was less than £1 could they see their way clear to letting you off this time?
or even ring them ASAP and ask if they intend to charge. And then beg them not to!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Bin day tomorrow. Nice NDNs are away and asked me to put their (double capacity) black bin out, so since it was mostly empty, and could have blown over in the wind, and since I have 3 bin bags of rubbish in my garage... You see where I'm going... I don't think for a minute they'd mind, and it's getting emptied before they come home.
So. I actually no longer have 3 bin bags of rubbish in my garage, it's stopping their bin from being blown over :ABossymoo
