Thanks to all thread and list makers.
So far:
- WM on
- been to gym
- stopped on way back, got C0sta then stopped at disused railway line which has lovely old, traditional MONSTER apple-bearing Bramley tree. Picked up 5 carrier bags full after a bit of slug-wrestling and my coffee had hardly even cooled, it was so quick picking them. Ground was ankle deep for about a 30 ft radius. I've just weighed one of the bags and it is 13lb. So some serious washing, wrapping, peeling, freezing and cooking ahead. There won't be room in the freezer, but I just cannot leave them on the ground to rot as they are free!! Loads left for the wildlife. Pity we aren't fond of chutney. I may try making apple jelly, but we're not really jam eaters either. Mr N keeps talking about getting a cider press. Looks like puddings are sorted till the new year anyway............Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Can I join in again please? I haven't been here for ages and God does it show! My house is a tip, I managed to do a lot of cleaning and sorting upstairs but the RoD is up there and I haven't even ventured in there! So I will be flying somewhat off list, but I found it so motivating being on here and reading how well everyone is doing, I'm inspired, especially by PigPens flinging!
Right best get started, HHC at 2pm anyone?0 -
Just tried to use my vacuum and got little suction! Had to detach the hose and rinse it through with water. Lots of cat hair came out in a big lump! drying out the hose before I continue vacuuming. Hopefully I have solved my loss of suction issue!0

Narcolepsy, have you considered contacting a local cider maker to do the honours with the apples rather than getting your own press?‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

TBH I don't actually drink the stuff, so it's up to Mr N to find one if he wants any!! We're not in a traditional cider-making area although I haven't looked to see if there is anyone locally. I've got a juicer, so I think I will make some of that although it is very messy with lots of skin and stuff left over - one of those kitchen devices that seems a good idea but takes longer to wash up than to use!!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Hi all
Just checking in, have done the LR, hall and stairs. Windows could really do with a clean but its very windy out so I have left it. Dog walked, lasagne made for tea, bit of a sweep round rehoming various bits and pieces.
Feeling tired and grumpy now for no particular reason. Going to my gym class in a bit, dont really want to go but I know it will do me good. Five more minutes then I will shift myself ...0 -
Small golden girlie decluttered back to her own humans. *sob*
Eighteen days dogless til Jasper arrives. Not sure how I'll survive!
I hear car doors - I think Mr LW is home, so I'll try and post again tomorrow. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I'm in attendance again, if only occasionally. We are on flood alert, so my flying is related to getting precious things to the second floor...0
