    I aim to save £200.

You can most certainly join us, Emmacoe. A very warm welcome to you! It's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Have fun saving and enjoy the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on the 3rd post of page 1. Please read through the 1st postas it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings in November, please make a note of this year's date: 5th Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

Many thanks, Modesty, for the perfect welcoming post! A shiny gold star is your reward. :staradmin

A very Good Afternoon, folks. I hope everyon's having a good day, a horrible drizzle all day here. :( {{{Hugs}}} to all those of you unwell or suffering with colds. I hope you all soon get well! :D

Keep walking, siju, and one of these days you'll get passed that funny agae...not sure about the dog! :rotfl:Very bad luck with your washing machine, but at least it's ok now and you have more cash! :grinheart

Well done, Hicksy, you worked that well. :D

I fell off the wagon on spc8 due to my car needing money to get fixed
:( When I had to empty it, I was up to £276!

Joining again now and determined to not touch it...set my target at £500 please :)

Don't worry, evo5819, you're still on the list so please, just carry on and save well! Don't forget though - IF you can remember how much you had managed to save then you can still declare it on SPC 8 HERE. I hope to see you there. :D Your Target of £500 is on, good luck with it!! :j

Better potted than drunk any day, lexbubbles! ;)

    Excellent potting, stormpassing....

    you too, hummingbird and Kerrmie!
I've got into the habit of checking my purse for small change every evening. This potting lark has already become addictive. I love feeding my pot:j

Not going to count and remember how much I put in each time as I want a surprise on opening day;). It's only 20p pieces and under that I'm potting but something is going in most days:T

My purse is very small:( and I was thinking of buying another but now I've found this challenge I'm emptying it of change every day so don't need to carry so much around any more. Saving coins and saving on buying a new purse too. Win-win:j

Well done, carbootcrazy, you're understanding SPC perfectly! It's addictive, fun and......saves a fortune on purses!!! :rotfl: Think what you'll amass by next November!

Brilliant work, Rylee...a super amount in the POT!!!!!!!! :j

Hi lovely SueUU. You can take me off the list as I've not really been participating in the challenge. Good luck to all that are!

Hello 166million! Lovely to see you back. I've PM'd you with the message below, it's also on SPC 8. There's no need for you to be taken off the list at all, well, IF you're intending on saving that is! However, if you really don't want to save then reluctantly I'll replace your name with a new member...with sadness! :( Re SPC 8, I know you seem to be accepting that you raided your pot and that's it, but...if you can remember how much you had then please do declare it as, after all, it's still money that you had saved! So, if you're reading this then come on back by all means. :D

Good for you, frasersmum123, keep it coming!!!!!

  • I have been looking at these. I am considering getting my OH one for christmas. The Pifco is a lot bigger than the dreamland one so i think i am going to do for that and hope he doesn't break it using it in bed. I read if you lie on it it can break them.

You can. The Pifco throw is an overblanket and is meant to be used, well, over you and shouldn't have heavy objects (or people!) on it. So you use it as a throw on the sofa, or a top blanket in bed on top of the duvet. This applies to all heated overblankets/throws, not just the Pifco.

If you want a blanket for bed specifically that can be lain on, you need to look for an electric underblanket which goes between the matress and bedsheet. These can be safely lain on. I have one of those, too, in the form of a Silentnight Comfort Control Double (from £23.75 on Am@zon)

Underblankets will not work as throws as they need to be insulated (between 2 things like, well, the mattress and sheet) to retain/circulate heat. Since overblankets retain their heat without insulation (allowing them to be used as throws), laying on them, putting them under a matrress or sheet, or having it switched on when folded can cause them to overheat or just straight-up break. Oveheating won't lead to a fire, but it will fry the control unit and render the blanket useless.

If you just want to keep the bed warm: electric underblanket
If you want something to snuggle up on the sofa, or use as a top blanket in bed over the duvet: heated throw

No money in the pot today but also no money from the bank account spent which is a bonus! Am trying to do a 14 day 'money diet' and not spend any for the next two weeks! Can't be that hard considering I have £2 left in my bank haha! Hope everyone is having a great week so far!
