Potting £2.71 atm.
Changed my avatar for a snowy scene for Sue, Jakes-mum and every one else who loves the snow. It's beautiful to look at but I'd hate to have to walk through it.
Hugs to all of our poorly potters. Keep warm.S.P.C. 9 2016 No. 062 Banked £337.50

Does anyone know why a lot of our avatars aren't showing on the new-style forum? Mine is there on the original format but I don't know how to fix it on the new one!:o:o:o£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

First thing to check:
In your user CP, under the "settings and options" section to the left, click "options". Scroll down to the "thread display options" section. Ensure that show signatures/avatars/images are all checked.
Second thing to check:
Scroll down a bit more to "miscellaneous options". Check that you have forum skin set to "new masthead, fixed width". Not only will that stop images being huge, but it could be that a different version of the skin makes avatars misbehave. If I have it set to "2014 redesign" everyone's avatar vanishes and gets replaced with a grey silhouette of a person so it could be that.Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

Heating me all day = 58p (that's for 24 hours - LITERALLY all day so a high estimate)
Running just one convector heater for 3 hours = 72p
I take your point, lexbubbles, I hadn't realised they were THAT costly!!!! In that case...enjoy your throw and snuggle up! :heartpuls What a shame we can't retain all the heat we build up while walking, I walk over 5 miles a day and am usually sweating wildly in the after burn, such a shame it can't be stored and slowly released. I know, I'm talking rubbush, but......!Keep going to the PO, lex!
Brilliant work with your roadkill!!!!! :j BTW, great work with the directions to hummingbird, that warrants a gold star. :staradmin
How lovely of your friend to show such appreciation for your blood, sweat and great help, TheCatsandDogsMother, you've deserved the pizza for sure!DreamerHelen wrote: »Thanks carbootcrazy hun...You are NOT lagging behind...Everyone Saves at their own Rate.....I'll never be able to get to the dizzy heights that some people get to on this Thread but as long as I can cover Christmas next Year with this Money that I'm saving now then I'll be happy....
You can only do what you can do hun....Take it easy xXx
Excellently put, Helen!!!!!!! :T I couldn't have said it any better, no one could. For that brilliant advice you've earned yourself a gold star!!! :staradmin Great saving and I'm so happy to hear your cold is a good deal better!
Take heed of Helen's great advice, carbootcrazy, she's one very wise girl and is getting better and better with each year's saving - you'll get there too!! :j
Not to worry, suz_87, though when you're able, it's lovely to know how well you're doing!
Your children are a credit to you, TheMillions, with such wonderful honesty and savings!!!!!! :T
You're saving well, frasersmum, and whatever you save is splendid and far better than wasted away!!! :j
VERY WELL SAVED, stormpassing!!!! We look forward to see more of you soon.
Keep it up, Hicksy! You do take the rise out of your DH.siju wrote:Love to read everyone's posts as I'm cuddling up to the oil radiator on my lunch. It's nice to know others are out there freezing too  How can I be so cold awake and so hot asleep?
You're so like me, siju, but I do find that 2 long walks a day help a lot...though I sweat like the clappers about 15 minutes after each. Definitely an age thing!!
I'so pleased you thorouly enjoyed it, TheDapster, and you have something so interesting to look forward to and save for - well done!!!!
Well saved, tatabubbly, but what a time to receive your next wage packet???! My DS, D-I-L and S-I-L all get paid in advance so they have it if it's necessary for Christmas. Eeking it out is how it sounds as though you'll be doing! :cool:Thanks for your kind words everyone, she is doing well. All caused by smoking for over 40 years, please all of you that still do, please please please think about stopping xxxx
I'm so sorry to read about your Mum, !!!!!!, but know all too well how smoking affects our lives! This Christmas Day I'll have stopped for 17 years and chuffed to bits about it. :grinheart I've helped a lot of folk on MSE to quit and can't help but sincerely echo your words as I've seen all the heartache and misery the consequences bring to puffers and....their lived ones!! The very best of health to your Mum, you too xxx
Ahhhh, that delightful snow scene is beautiful, Modesty, thanks so much for thinking of jakes-mum and I. :kisses3: I even LOVE walking in it, the sound it makes is gorgeous!!!! :rotfl: I was in Germany with my DD 21 years ago and we had the most wonderful snow storm, such huge flakes! Everyone stood watching it's beauty from the academy she was at....so blissful I wish I'd had my camera then. :grinheart
Ooooh, you are a gannet, jakes-mum! Be happy with little and often...in a manner of speaking!
A whopping £15 left for the pot after shopping today, so happy with that!!!!!! :j That's the lot for another week, but I'm well chuffed!!:xmassmile Have a good evening, SPCers....don't forget your pots need TLC!!

Yup, sadly wee electric heaters cost an arm and a leg. Probably good for a small home office or something though.
I walk a lot too! I don't actually feel the cold at all outside and winter is by far my favourite season (I overheat really quickly so me and summer are noooooot friends), but when you're sat on the sofa it gets chilly all-too quickly.
My throw has arrived and is wonderful. I'm all nice and toasty - although the cats have stolen half of it :rotfl:
Oooh yay another star! Going to have an entire constellation soon! Although possibly a little premature - I've no idea if the problem has been solved yetAqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100
