Put in my last £2 (probably) tonight, ready for counting up tomorrow. Also put in £5 which I was given by Tesco this morning after I complained (on Twitter :rotfl: ) about the cashier that served me yesterday - no please or thank you, just "£4.08" and "Here". They wanted to give me a giftcard but for some reason the manager couldn't get it to work so she just gave me cash instead
My tin already had some money in when I joined the challenge, so will be interesting to see the final total.SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

Evening everyone! Everyone is so uber excited with their savings, this is such a wonderful seat to have at such terrific times!!!!
Hi mossy! Very well done on your savings!!! :j:T:j I'm so happy for you and thrilled that it's an amount you can do something with particularly for Christmas time!!!! :xmastree:Re your thoughts on how to save more the Vitual Sealed Pot sounds a great way to have running alongside SPC and don't forget that you can include any other MSE Challenges in your SPC Total too! Good luck with it mossy and see you on SPC 10 just as soon as you're ready!
A fantastic sum saved, TheDapster!!!!!:T:dance: An amount you can really do something with! It's so good to have you with us!!
That's perfectly ok to declare yours tonight, 12 month challenge....and what an amazing amount you've managed to Pot, congratulations!!!!! :j:T:jYou sound as though you were. beside yourself with the sheer excitement of it all and it's a joy to hear! I'm delighted you're so glad you joined us, me too, and good for you in starting off again tomorrow! Save well and reap great rewards just like you've done this year!!!
Hiya Emily and brilliant news about your pot contents!!!!:T:dance: A GREAT sum and I'm so very happy for you, so thrilled all your cash problems are far behind you!!Baby_Angel wrote: »My total this time is not as high as last time. It is only £ 298. I guess not doing grocery shopping or not carrying any cash around is helping with the challenge. So next year I am going to set myself a target of £500.
Signature updated!!!!!
Baby Angel, there is absolutely no such thing as "only", whatever we save it's money we'd quite possibly have otherwise wasted or have got lost in shopping etc. I will be soooo chuffed if I have the same as you, but I'm sure it'll be more as DH & I try hard to save a specific weekly amount though it isn't always possible. So be really chuffed with it all and be proud!!!! :j:T:j Ok £500 it is for next year and all the best in achieving it!!!
An excellent result for the years potting, Happybeingme, congratulations to you!!!!:T:dance:I'm so happy you're delighted with it, yes, it would always be nice to have more, but ever we've saved is going to benefit us, and as you say....is so much better than if you'd not saved at all!!!! See you over on SPC 10 on Friday!
Helllo Bex, not seen you for way too long but...it's great to see you now with a big smile on your face!Congratulations Bex you've done so well and your savings account will thank you for it!!!! :j:T:j Good luck for next year Bex!
You put it wisely, Dragon Lily! Savings could always have been better if things were different here and there, but IF we hadn't saved at all.....!It's an amazing amount you've saved and congratulations on every single penny in there!!!!!!:T:dance: BTW, it's good to have quite a fair few declaring tonight, aside from that - how on earth would you have managed to sleep!!!!!;) See you over on SPC 10 anytime after 12 midnight tomorrow!
frogletina wrote:I do like the style of the pots, it's just that they have Disney cartoons on them and I've never really been into cartoons.
This year I've got one decorated with coca-cola bottles from 1899 to 1957 which is more to my taste. Should have got more when I got that one.
I'm going to open it the way I did the last two, by pressing down on the seam as suggested by someone on here.
It's sitting next to me tempting me to open it.
....and you;re still waiting?!! I couldn't agree more with you re the Disney pots, not my style either, but they can't all have such great taste! That must be quite an array of coke bottles you've got between those amount of years. See you tomorrow then......if you wait!!!
I suppose there will always be some shop assistants who really don't try, MrsShazbat, though I've got to admit to the majority being exceptionally polite and cheery, but you'll always get the ones that are simply there for the wage packet and nowt else. Anyway, at least some good came out of it, and your pot benefitted!!! :jIt's the final countdown, Potters!! :jJust hours away now!!

Evening everyone, No 36 declaring tonight as well. This year I have potted £162.98. That was increased from what it would have been as I walked home from work this evening and found £1.70 right there on the ground. Of course the £1.70 went into the pot. I haven't banked it all, just £161 so I have a bit of a start for the 2017 challenge. It's not quite the £500 I had targeted but it's better than nothing. Well done to everyone who has already declared and good luck if you are opening your pot tomorrow!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Looking forward to tomorrow.
I must say a great thanks to Sue for all the encouragement. We all appreciate the encouragement and last year's figure of £50k plus is something YOU should be massively proud of Sue - Talk about encouraging good habits. :T
Without this challenge me and Mrs oMac would not be going to Cornwall at the weekend as we wouldn't have put the money aside. What a great idea this challenge is. Nice to see some new entries for the next challenge as well.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 50 -
