Well, after reading through and getting quite jealous, I'll be joining the party for the next period if you all don't mind! Will there be a new thread?

It's never too late (or too early!) to join us, laingn (Natasha) and bilk89. A very warm welcome to you both! It's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Have fun saving and enjoy the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on the 2nd post of page 1. Please read through post 1as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We will be emptying our pots next year on the 2nd Nov and starting again for 2018 on the 3rd. YES, there will be a new thread for SPC 10 and that will begin on November 4th this Friday at around 12.30 am this year! :j I shall leave a link to it on this one so you al know your way on. :D

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

Thanks so much for such a great welcome to Natasha, Frogletina, you rightly deserve this gold star. :staradmin

Hello Purplemumof2, that's not a problem at all and far better than being late. You've saved a fantastic amount, so very well done you!!!! :j

I see what you mean, Frogletina, I thought you'd had one heck of a lucky week otherwise! Whether the amount that you saved his less than last year or not at least it will be one heck of a benefit to you for Christmas, so still plenty of reason to be so proud and of all you've saved!! Re your 2nd post: Initially you quite startled me with your eating out budget, but if you can afford to do so then why not, especially if it helps keep your friendships going as well as lifting your spirits as well as your friends!

A very good evening to you, SPCers, I hope each and everyone of you are well, keeping warm also. It won't be long now til we're all opening our pots!!!! :j
For those who are poorly, take great care and get qell soon! The same wishes tp those with any other problems, I hope you can soon sort them out. For now, here are some special {{{hugs}}} to help you get well quickly. We're all thinking so much of you. :grinheart Take care!

I see Bubbs, even more tragic given the beautiful bond between them both. I suppose all anyone can say is that at least he passed away after sharing real happiness and that I imagine is what she should hang onto.
Excellent savings again at waities, especially with the chicken! Re your Total, have a really lovely Birthday and just let me know when you're ready, I know you won't be long anyway.

What a fantastic total you've achieved, sexyshark!!:j:T:j Ok, you may not have made your Target but to get as much as you have is incredible!!!!!!! Congratulations and I'm so chuffed for you! :D

That's it, MrsShazbat, all those pennies are still worth potting! Re your Total, do it in the way that's best for you, just be sure to let me know the sum you end up with. ;)

Well done with your £10er, Lynne, I hope your problems soon get sorted. :)

WOW Lost, that is definitely what you define as some very serious potting...again!! See you very soon.

Not to worry, Antomac, the most important thing is that at least you must have saved a fair bit, much better than if you'd not saved at all. No doubt we'll see you on the new thread on the 4th. BTW I always put a link at the end of the outgoing thread (this one) early Friday morning so you all know where to find the new one.

That's perfectly ok, rockabillygirl, I'll put your Total on my list and your cash won't get left out. Brilliant work and I'm really pleased you had the cash saved for a time when you really need it!! :T:dance:

Next Sunday will be just fine, Saver-upper, and try not to worry about it. If you can do so then why not mark next year's date (2nd Nov) as exceptionally busy so it doesn't clash! ;)

Re the problems with your friends....it's far better to be a sensitive soul rather than hard or non-caring, but just be wary of taking too much on yourself. :kisses3:

You're doing really well, Ben, your Wife will love you to bits for your potting!! :D

Hello Purplemumof2, that's not a problem at all and far better than being late. You've saved a fantastic amount, so many congratulations, very well done you!!!! :j:T:j

I understand what you mean, NeedToBeDebtFree, but you've just gottta wait!! :( I know you mean it in a "I'm so excited" and I so understand that. :D You declare your savings on Sunday by all means. I truly just can't believe the speed at which it's come round this year, though I know I have family health problems which are foremost on my mind, but fingers crossed!

Doing this challenge has taught me a lot. It has taught me that I can live and survive on less money.
Maybe this is a result of me being in a much better financial situation than I had been previously but I have potted what seem like huge amounts of money to me (even 3 x £5 notes) and I haven't suffered any financial repercussions of having less money in my wallet.

There has only been one occasion since starting this (in July, i think?) when I felt I had been too hasty potting my change, but on the whole I think I have taught myself a lot about saving money.
Your post was a fantastic one, Florence, and I sincerely hope it will really motivate others into following your lead!! :grinheart It's surprising how far word of our SPC challenge has reached and I'm delighted it reached you and brought you into saving with a passion! :D So you don't risk getting to ahead of yourself about potting cash than worrying whether you should have held it/some back just in case, why not think of using a "holding pot", all the info is on my 1st post on page 1. Very many thanks for the great feedback and look forward to opening your 'treasure trove'!!!
DON'T forget your bags everyone and to put the correct denominations of coins in each bag!!!

Happy counting to you also, Dragon Lily! I think I can provide the answer to why you thought DDay was the 5th, that was last year's DD which of course went with a bang and totally unlike any damp squib!!!! :rotfl:

It's good to see you home, MrsC....tobe, yes you have neglected us but I wouldn't dream of mentioning it to you!! ;)
Sincere condolences to your OH in the loss of his dear Granny, your darling dog also, and the fact that you'd anticipated both doesn't make it less devastating. Life is far too short as you so rightly say, we all HAVE to make the most of it while we're able! Have a wonderful time in Copenhagen and you can declare just as soon as you like, or when you return if it's easier - up to you.
Don't forget, folks, only 2 days left to fill those pots!!!!!

Next year is going to be difficult, as we have plans to migrate back to Germany. Is anyone here doing the sealed pot challenge in any other currencies? I would love to be put under "pressure" to do this challenge :j

Lovely to see you, Baby Angel, never mind about the posting so long as you've kept up with the savings then we're happy!! Ok then....prepare to be challenged when you migrate!!! Ja, it'll be perfectly alright to save in Euros! As Saver-upper quite correctly tells you we've members in Australia, also in France and Belgium so you being in Deutschland wird sein fantastich!!! ;) Actually in my spare time I study both German and French and love it! Let us know either when you're off or when you're there....or both! You declare when you're ready.

An excellent Total saved, Wentthedaywell, and I'm thrilled to bits for you that it'll be so handy at Christmas rather than wasted!!!:T:dance: Hopefully you should get more next year as you haven't been with us for too long.

Hi again, little_sweetie! Well, it looks as though you've a really grand Total to take shopping with your DD, a fantastic achievement and very well done!!!! :j :T:j Love to you and to G. Problems with DD and T's health at the moment but I'll be with you just as soon as possible! Re my running the thread, it's a real pleasure to do so!

So....how many more will there be eh, Chutney?! ;)

Anyway, I've just done a count, but I'm not opening up the £2 and 50p tin just yet. Here it is without that.....

The potting has slowed down with all the bills I've had to pay :( but I've still been potting my shiny $2 coins... and my housemates haha.
I'm looking forward to counting it all up, I've already got the totals from when I had to break open the pot for emergencies.

What a brilliant way of putting it, Frogletina! It is just like one large family unit and I just love the way we all are with each other here; everyone sharing the load of good and bad times together, just as families do! :kisses: :grouphug: though totally unsure of that last smilie! :rotfl:Me as Mama though...?!
