It's just a few days folks, please try to hold on. Remember, you still have time to pot a few more coins.

A special thank you to frogletina for this post hugs.gif.
I had been thinking about opening my pots today, while my family is out.But I knew I would be missing out on the last couple of days of "looking forward to opening day" excitement,as well as money to pot.Thursday would come round, and my fun would already be over :(.(I want to be more like the kid at Easter who eats easter eggs so slowly,he still has eggs in September, while siblings have eaten all theirs :D).
So,despite still being disappointed that I can't arrange a few hours off on Thur to open my pot,I will wait.I don't think I will be able to open my pots until Sunday.
I am going to wait.Thank you again frogletina.x

You paid for your lunch out, Frogletina?!!! Wow that's unusual for you, I was quite surprised and I'll bet you never budgeted for that, haha! :rotfl:

I actually eat out more than you imagine Sue. Last week it was twice, but all my budgeted money is for eating out with others and covers if I am paying for them too, which happens from time to time.

Last year I allocated £520 of my sealed pot money to eating out - averaging £10 a week.

Any remaining money at the end of the year will go back into the pot.

This month I have £34 left in my eating out fund and only £1.07 in my housekeeping account which in theory means I don't have enough budgeted money to go and buy milk and a loaf of bread but I could treat myself and a friend to Sunday lunch - :)

    Hi Natasha

    You're not late, you're early!

The new challenge will begin as soon as the current sealed potters open their pots on Thursday!

If you take a read of the first few posts, and find yourself a pot, you will be all ready to begin and Sue will give you a number which you can add to your posts.

Good luck with the challenge and it's nice to have you join us

Doing this challenge has taught me a lot. It has taught me that I can live and survive on less money.

Maybe this is a result of me being in a much better financial situation than I had been previously but I have potted what seem like huge amounts of money to me (even 3 x £5 notes) and I haven't suffered any financial repercussions of having less money in my wallet.

I used to pot all my change into a money tin (a Spice Girls one I have had since the days of the spice girls which I can't bring myself to get rid of) and my OH and I would do things like both pot each month and at the end of the month we would go for a meal. In more recent times any money I potted in this tin would be soon taken out when I was running late for work and had to catch a bus.

There has only been one occasion since starting this (in July, i think?) when I felt I had been too hasty potting my change, but on the whole I think I have taught myself a lot about saving money.

I messaged a friend two days ago to wish her happy birthday and she messaged me today to say thanks and did I want to meet her for lunch tomorrow!

Of course I said yes, friends are so important even though whenever I meet certain ones it is always for lunch.

I've stayed in too many days recently, I need my spirits lifting.
