£3.92 into the pot today, leftover change from weekend and today's shopping. I was also excited about Newcastle United being around on Saturday and went to that game as a BCFC supporter, but will admit I was more excited by Newcastle :)

Florence, If I'm honest I was probably more excited by Newcastle too - I feel a bit dirty!
I was also excited to pick up 20p roadkill on the stroke of half time and then exactly 24 hours later pick up another 20p in Harrods (Well, I got my daughter to pick it up as I felt a bit embarassed picking up 20p in Harrods :) ). I MUST be the only person ever to have picked up 20p at Ashton Gate and then the same amount in Harrods 24 hour later - Anyway, it will go with this week's savings.

I'm not liking it at all. If it wasn't for my VSP then i'd have given up long ago and gone back to counting. It's only because i know i'm going to have a certain amount from my VSP that's kept me going.

Different ways work for different people i guess

Glad your VSP has kept you going, not that I'm at all bias, lol...

    Haha :-)

It's been a busy weekend. We went to a dinner dance in the church where we were married (very progressive vicar) on Friday night. I found 20p on the floor, but put it in the church funds rather than claim it as roadkill. My good deed for the day :A. We went to a dance on Saturday evening in the local village hall too. Didn't find any roadkill but did dance my socks off :D Feeling fit as a fiddle now ;)

Emptied my purse over the weekend and put just over £8.00 in my little pot. Plus, I have £2.49 to add to it today.

Hi all, hows things? Not been on here in a very long time. I'm still potting away, but due to losing my job and needing the money I raided my pot for the £200-ish in there and spent it.

Slowly getting back on my feet and have now got just over £15 potted since I started again. :)

Morning all [STRIKE]just procrastinating and putting off my huge list of jobs for the day[/STRIKE]...checking you're all well and saving!! :D

We are in the middle of decorating two of our bedrooms and the hall/stairs/landing so my poor pot is barricaded in by two rooms worth of stuff...fortunately I am creating a little pile of change ready to pot once our house returns to normal (whatever that looks like!!).

Hope you're able to enjoy this lovely weather. :)
Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!

Sorry to hear that you lost your job benten. At least this challenge proved a welcome source of income when you needed it.

    Good luck with starting again.

Found 80p at the bottom of my bag, so into the pot it has gone. Also went for a coffee, but used points to pay for it so I've potted £2.50!

Still no luck on the DH leaving cash out front. Grrrr.... ;)

A very good evening to you all, SPCers, I hope it's been a good week for you. The saving from you all is just wonderful, do keep going gang as you'll be so over the moon when you open those pots!!!!

Best wishes to anyone who mightn't be feeling so good or have other issues, here are some special {{{hugs}}} to help you get well soon. Your SPC family are thinking of you. :grinheart

You really are doing marvellously, MrsShazbat, terrific savings indeed!!! Looking forward to hearing how you react come November!

Good for you, TheDapster, it certainly pays to keep your eyes to the ground - though not all the time are you could be lamp post bashing!! :wall:

Well done, TheCatsandDogsMother!! So, d'you reckon you and your housemate will be sharing the contents of your pot in November or is he being that kind that he'll let you have the lot?! Just wondering.

Excellent work, Modesty!! BTW, which lottery do you do? I only ask as you seem to win fairly regularly. I know you it might not be a great lot but at least it's not always money wasted.
I know we cant mention the dreaded C work but am i allowed to say that there are only 72 full days of this challenge left!!!

I really hope we beat last years target. I'll also be glad to go back to counting my money before i pot it. I hate this not knowing.

Of course you can say how many days/weeks it is until counting update, Ruth, no worries whatsoever. No doubt you'll get back to your old way of saving just as soon as you've declared, and if that makes you happy then good luck to you!

As mad as it sounds, if she does have Coeliacs, the G/F diet should stop the diarrhoea and may also help with the fatigue (another symptom of both diseases) and I promise its really not as awful to deal with as non coeliacs like to make out. Its all second nature to me and you know i'll bombard your inbox with recipes for yorkshire puddings, cakes and biscuits so she doesn't have to miss out on all the yummy stuff (or pay a fortune to eat yummy stuff!)

DH came home from the pub with over £8 in change in his pocket yesterday, I felt I should show him some love by saving him the embaressment of having his trousers fall down from all that weight :D so its in the tin :D:D

Thanks so much for your suggestion about our DD going on a GF way of life, jakes-mum, it certainly makes perfect sense when you think about it. I guess it can only do good anyway, she's not had the results back yet, but she's been round this afternoon and is perfectly happy to give GF a try! Thanks again jakes-mum, you're an absolute gem!! :kisses3: How caring you are to your DH!! :rotfl:

I totally agree with you, Westie, let's knock last year's target clean out of the water!!!!! :j If nothing else, 2012 and Rio have taught us to go all out and go for gold...silver or...bronze!!! :money:

Very well done, Florence! Though I haven't a clue what those initials stand for but guess it must be good...or is it the opposite??!

Uh oh, another footie nut then, Antomac, but embarrassed about picking up roadkill outside of Harrods??!!! This is SPC you know (of which you're a valued member) and jakes-mum would have picked it up if it had been inside Buckingham Palace....even if Liz herself had dropped it!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Cor I'll bet that took some willpower, siju, ;) but you did the right thing for sure! :A Sounds as though all that dancing really rejuvenated you...or was it the good deed that did that perhaps! :DGood saving whatever!

Don't worry, mrs-moneypenny, it's never so easy to find the time for forums when you've kiddies around; but so long as you're saving! So which is the saddest occasion, going back to work or the youngsters going back to school?? ;)

Oh very bad luck about the loss of your job, benten, though at least you had your cash to help tide you over - don't forget to include the £200 when declaring your savings in November, you saved it in the first place remember!! All the best for some more good saving from now on!! :)

Here's another procrastinator, mossy, ours is just our bedroom, but it's a huge one hence us always putting off...till summer...or...till after our holiday....or....!! You know what I mean obviously. Good luck with yours, ours too! At least we're both saving well and can't be perfect at everything!! :D

Well done Vicky! I'm willing your DH to slip up and leave his cash around so you can nab it....for his own good!! ;)

Another good saver, Chutney, do you save it in a jar per chance?!!

Have a relaxing evening and a lovely friday, folks and.....keep those pots well fed!

    Sue xx
