Made it to the end of the week without spending any of my £40 by making my own lunches, resisting new trainers, etc.

All £40 is banked, and took out another £40 for this week. Tomorrow night I'm going for a meal out for a work colleague who's leaving. So some of this weeks money will go, but that's what it's for & it's not every day someone leaves & we go for food.

Happy bank holiday everyone. I'm at home enjoying the gorgeous weather and feeling happy, and totally stunned, because I'm now engaged:j

£2.00 potted today. My potted money will now go towards my wedding, hopefully in February!

Many congratulations NeedToBeDebtFree, such an exciting time for you :j

Took the dog to the vet for his booster on the weekend. Poor old thing, he's developing lots of hot spots on his legs and chest and has to suffer the indignity of being rolled upside down twice a day for me to rub gel in him. Not a happy doggy.

However, while we were out with the dog, DH gave me a £10 note to pop into the supermarket for a few bits and pieces as I didn't have my purse with me and I conveniently forgot to give him the change :cool:. Not sure how much I potted but every little helps :T

Also have £6.26 to add to the pot today

I found 2 €0.01 euro coins in the car yesterday, does that count? :rotfl:

Had to buy 4x new brake discs for the car yesterday, already got the pads sitting waiting to be fitted also. Luckily EuroCarParts have a 30% bank holiday weekend discount on, so cost me £70 instead of £100.

Works out at £17.50 a disc, so can't complain too much. I'll be fitting them myself which will also save a couple of hours in labour at the garage. :T

I've been potting handfuls of change whenever I can.

Sue, I do the national lottery but get nowhere near what we've spent on it back. Although I did win another £2.70 last night.
I keep telling DH we should stop playing it but he refuses to let me cancel.

I hope everyone had a splendid Bank Holiday weekend, folks, I clean forgot about it until the Saturday! It certainly was a beautiful weekend, all week too for us at least.

Another £1.69 added last night. I've also decided to give myself a £40 weekly budget for things like lunch, coffee, things I want to buy in the shop, etc.

I take out cash every Sunday & whatever I don't spend for the week goes into a holding pot. By the end of the month, whatever is not spent all goes into the main pot.

Only just started this week, but so far not spent anything, and I've just been paid for the month. So whatever I have left by Sunday will be going into the pot. Should be an incentive to budget better.

It's good to hear you won't forget, benten, you'd be surprised the ones that do! You're certainly choosing to budget and save very wisely, keep it up as it'll always stand you in good stead. BTW....darned sure the 2 Euros count, all money does!!

No matter how well we want to save, we still owe it to ourselves to enjoy life too, but saving so well gives us the chance to do so!! Good savings on the brake discs....even better when you're able to fit them yourself!! I bet you're able to save a small fortune over time! :dance:

Your poor hairy pal, siju! He sounds so much like our neighbours dog, his are very similar to lumpy bed sores and look so painful.
Very well done with DH's change, I wonder just how much they honestly mind after all they all know that they too benefit from the pots!!!
