Hi, I've just potted £10.51 after emptying my purse. I have been potting lots of change and forgetting to post on here so I have no idea how much is in the tin. So exciting xx

I hope everyone had a splendid Bank Holiday weekend, folks, I clean forgot about it until the Saturday! :( It certainly was a beautiful weekend, all week too for us at least.

Best wishes to anyone who mightn't be feeling so good or have other issues, here are some special {{{hugs}}} to help you get well soon. Your SPC family are thinking of you. :grinheart

I'm not a drinker, Westie, (well apart from a weak shandy now and again) but I'd be the first to encourage anyone to make the most of offers while they're available. So pleased you got a good deal!!

Good for you, Florence, save what you can when you can. :D

Did you cherry-pick your housemate for his kindness, TheCatsandDogsMother? If you didn't then you certainly got the best!! :j

Thanks for the kind words. Sue-UU, Ill be sure to include it into my final tally. :)

Another £1.69 added last night. I've also decided to give myself a £40 weekly budget for things like lunch, coffee, things I want to buy in the shop, etc.

I take out cash every Sunday & whatever I don't spend for the week goes into a holding pot. By the end of the month, whatever is not spent all goes into the main pot.

Only just started this week, but so far not spent anything, and I've just been paid for the month. So whatever I have left by Sunday will be going into the pot. Should be an incentive to budget better. :)

It's good to hear you won't forget, benten, you'd be surprised the ones that do! You're certainly choosing to budget and save very wisely, keep it up as it'll always stand you in good stead. BTW....darned sure the 2 Euros count, all money does!!

No matter how well we want to save, we still owe it to ourselves to enjoy life too, but saving so well gives us the chance to do so!! Good savings on the brake discs....even better when you're able to fit them yourself!! I bet you're able to save a small fortune over time!

Well saved with your weekly £10er, Lynne! So whereabouts are you off to for your holiday? Wherever it is I hope the weather's kind to you and you have a fantastic time! :grinheart

Just £3.50 potted for me this week Sue. I think my worst week since I started. Back to school expenses kicking in now. My daughter's feet appear to be growing to the size of canoes so it's new shoes, not to mention new blazer/skirt etc. Expensive times.
My mother-in-law lives New Forest way so I know how lovely it is down there. Also many happy holidays down there as a boy.
I once didn't speak to my mother-in-law for 2 years which I do regret. Problem was I didn't want to interrupt her! ;) That's an attempt at humour by the way - I love her dearly really.
The excitement of Aston Villa visiting tomorrow. A friend is coming up from Devon to watch it with us. Making sure I save separately for next season's season tickets so as not to add more to the credit card mountain.

Oooh you are awful about your MIL, Antomac, though it gave DH & I a good giggle!! :rotfl: I'm pleased you too enjoy the N Forest, splendid place of which I have terrific memories! :happyhear

By golly don't kids ever grow - and always the most at times money's hardest to come by too! :( I hope you enjoyed your football, croissant too!

    A nice sum saved, Chutney!

YAY Vicky.....I guessed it would happen soon enough as it's been too much of a pattern for him!!!! :j Here's to him forgetting more often!! :rotfl:

    Hi Folks

Great to see all my SPC friends still potting away. Can't believe I've been away for so long I've had an up n down time over the past year with personal & family health issues and manic times at work. I've still been potting away but haven't been keeping track. Now things are calmer I can focus again on all things MSE.

    Hope

It's so good to see you again, Hope, though I'm sorry to hear of you having had health problems, fingers crossed from here on. Don't worry that you haven't remembered the amounts you're been saving, your saving and that's all that matters! :T

Don't fret about how you save, Frogletina, you're always a brilliant saver/budgeter so just look forward to the counting up of it all; you might still be surprised!! :D

You sound ecstatic, NeedToBeDebtFree, and so you should! You've a wonderful occasion to focus on from here on, enjoy it all!!!

Your poor hairy pal, siju! :( He sounds so much like our neighbours dog, his are very similar to lumpy bed sores and look so painful.
Very well done with DH's change, I wonder just how much they honestly mind after all they all know that they too benefit from the pots!!! :D

Woo-hay Lost!!! :T A brilliant amount saved in one month!! :j

Keep up potting handfuls, Modesty!! Well you never know, your DH might just have a premonition about winning the jackpot on the lottery!! Just to mention.....if you should get so lucky....drop in and say tata before you go - please!!!!! :(

    £15 potted after shopping!! :D

Enjoy a lovely friday, folks and.....don't forget those pots!

    Sue xx

    Evening Potterssssssssssssssssss

Well Dear Uncle came over on sunday and gave me 2 x £2 coins and then just as he was going home yesterday handed DH another 1 x £2 coin to give to me  bless him, he's really taken my love of those shiny little gems to heart, he wont spend them and he wont let me swap for them either (I keep trying to make him but he wont have it).

Did the dreaded school shoe run, DS is now a size 8  and was pleasantly surprised that his shoes cost me £45 as last year they were £60! and DD still fits last years shoes :j :j so double saving :D. Downside (or upside depending on how you look at it) found some perfect shoes for when her feet do grow with proper built in arches (that she has to have as shes flat footed so she gets a lot of pain in flat shoes) BUT . . they are £75!!  soooooo, money being put aside for half term when I think she'll be big enough to fit them . .
DD did manage to scam me into buying her an adidas jacket though (I firmly blame her brother! teenagers and their expensive fashion!!). Little sister has to look exactly the same as her idol, big brother so a big tear filled face and pouty sad lip later, teeny bopper gets herself a £55 [STRIKE]piece of tat[/STRIKE] highly coveted fashion statement jacket . . . hasn't been off her body since ;)

Anyway, so 3 x £2 coins in the tin plus I have 1 more in my purse to join them :D £2 coin tin is getting mightily full! must fill it by November!!

  • I've potted around $12 this week, it's really starting to add up. Unfortunately I've also spend more money than I would like (my way of procrastinating uni essays).
Haha i was luckily friends with the housemate before I moved in Sue, but I'll admit that I got really lucky with the way things are.

    Afternoon lovely potter-peoples :hello:

Gosh - it's quiet on here atm. Hope all okay ??

Have emptied my pot, added it all up and banked most of it. Including this week's £10 there was £370 and have added it to my signature. Just some shrapnel left in the tin to continue when I come back :D

Hope you all have a lovely weekend
