Thanks for the number, will add to my signature now.

Bit of a problem, I've discovered my sealed pot slot can't fit 50p or 1 pound coins!!!!!!

This throws a spanner in the works. May have to improvise with a coffee pot as per your suggestions, or buy one from poundland.

  • He has recovered a little too quick... He is already back to bouncing around and has already worked out how to remove the collar that is to stop him getting at the stitches. He is now under supervision 24/7 so that he doesn't do anymore damage to himself.
It's like he is single pawedly trying to empty my pot haha, but I love him. He has a check up next week to see how it's going so have already set aside money for that.
Having the pots in the house has helped with his costs though :)

Bought a new sealed pot today, and it has a comfortable amount of coins in it already (as have moved them from unsealed pot to this), very happy, just need to see it grow.

Hi, I've not posted in ages but I have been putting lots in my pot. When I booked a holiday 4 months ago I started saving in a separate pot and can't believe that I've saved £335 !!!

In order to do this every penny left in my purse each week was potted. Also, for 2 months I lived off my store cupboards only having to buy bread, milk and veg. This will be my spending money and means I don't have to take anything out of my bank account.

I'm going with dil and grandchildren to Peppa Pig World and Legoland. We are leaving at 3am so hopefully children will sleep till after 7. It's an 8 hour drive plus stops so going to be a long day tomorrow.

When I get back I will restart saving in my sealed pot for Xmas - this is definitely the way to save for things as I didn't miss the money at all. Bye for now xx

An update for Sue-UU (and anyone else who may be interested) - I went pot-hunting at the shops today and didn't find any smiley pots :( Checked both £lands, both seem to have much lower stocks of pots than usual  also went to B&M and no smiley face pots, though there was a rather pretty pot with flamingos on that I had to talk myself out of buying :o Off to a different town sometime next week so will keep an eye out there too :)

Potting-wise I added about £4ish in various coinage this morning, I seem to have adopted an habit of potting money in without counting how much it is :o but oh well it'll be a surprise when I do open the pot :D

Plumduff55 what an excellent amount saved :j Hope you, DIL and the grandkids have a lovely time out - but don't forget to add the £335 saved/spent to your signature so it can all be declared come November ;)

Hey,Sue,did abit more looking online, and it seems it was a Poundworld store I got my pot from.not Poundland. Here they are on their website :
    http://www.poundworld.co.uk/dept/money-banks_d01933.htm

You can also find them on Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tin-Money-Box-Smiley-Face/dp/B00O11RBT2
(though £4.99 seems a bit )

Tonight I potted 4x£2 coins.Three of them I was given in change in one transaction at Sainsbury's!(I have commented before on getting lots of £2 from Sainsbury self-service tills, but this was from a real-live teller and everything :D.)

Ten pounds potted for me this week. Weekly potting is becoming a good habit. Tennis was brilliant. Well done Andy Murray :)
