4 x £2 coins in the tin last night and oooooo, some shrapnel of varying denominations in t'other tin.

Just been having a shufty at Disney :D:D:D was ooooooooooh sooooooooo tempted to book for this year as it was coming in at about £5k for the 4 of us for 2 weeks in school holidays! BUT my head over ruled my heart as 1) the whole point of us going was to encourage DS onto the path of not being a pain in the arris . . . I mean as a reward for good behaviour at school and trying his best in his GCSE's (and yes we did tell him that his bad behaviour would not only cost him an overpriced trip to Disney but his little sister who never puts a foot wrong at school ;) ) He doesnt take his exams till next may so i'm a bit worried that if we go this year he'll go 'ahh, had my reward can just not bother now!'
And 2) it gives me another 12 months to save for it :D but was good to see how the prices change for the hotels the closer you get too the leaving date as looking to book the same thing next year was coming in at roughly £8K , gives me more scope on how I need to organise booking everything.

So i'm going to console myself with basically military precision organising each park we want to visit, what rides and shows we will want to see, get reviews on EVERYTHING! not to mention the long slog that will be 'restaurants that serve Gluten Free' and 'How the eck will we feed him in the parks' research marathon. So if you dont see me for a few weeks, i've basically got lost on one of the many Disney Threads on here or any of the million links to other huge Disney info sites. If it seems its been a while since I appeared, could someone just stand at the door of the thread and throw chocolate in to help me find my way out!

    Hi everyone!
Not been around for a while but I'm still potting away and working on my penny a day challenge. Getting closer to the end of the first challenge since I have been overpotting and I will be starting the second time around soon!
Looking to book a holiday for October for the family and then I am going away in December with the hubby so will use my pottings for that!

Hi all Sealed Potters! Here's hoping the weekend was a good'n, and that the week has been kind to you, though what some overwhelming heat we've had, phew! It'll be so lovely to have some storms to cleat the air. :D

Best wishes to all those of you who aren't well, here are some {{{hugs}}} to help you get better soon. :grinheart

I see it takes little to please you, Westie, though you obviously didn't see that there were 2 with your name on! ;)

I'm so glad your MIL is getting better, jakes-mum, though trust you to taunt her, poor woman. Lovely to know young Jake enjoyed his Birthday. Now don't forget, no mentioning the C word until September - ok? :naughty: Good!

A far better idea for Jake to get his GCSEs over and done with first, he'll appreciate such an amazing holiday far more that way too.
Leaving you a trail of chocolate......I should coa coa, in other words NO!!

A hello to you all from sunny Turkey.

Not doing much saving this week. Met up tonight with a Turkish male friend who I have known for 5 years and I agreed to meet up with him for a drink later. He said he had no money and I don't mind buying him a beer but when I arrived he was already there with two friends.

I just had a bottle of water costing 2 lira. His beer was 10, which was ok but it transpired I was paying for all 3 beers. So I paid out 32 lira which only left me with 10 so I called it a night and he walked me back to the hotel.

    When will I ever learn!

    frogletina

Hello there Frogletina! At least I guess you're still on holiday in Turkey? I really hope you have a fantastic time, good weather too, though be careful of those crafty males! They have their heads screwed on well, blighted! :rotfl:

I can see your point having originated from Norfolk, Lynne, what a huge difference between the 2 places. Still, no doubt you've found benefits in Scotland - apart from it's winters! :(
Talking of the weather - we've never once had a bad week up there, talk about pure luck!:j I see your point about roadkill though.

Very well done on taking what's rightfully yours, Lost, stay firm, for his sake too! ;)

In non-money related news, a friend I met through liking Benedict, had a brain tumour removed on Thursday and is home already!! Fortunately it's more than likely benign although we're awaiting confirmation on that.

No problems re the mortgage money from your E!ay money, MrsShazbat, so long as it's beneficial sorting it out that way, it's quite understandable. Have to have your holidays catered for.
All very best wishes in your friend's tumour being benign, though don't they ever chuck them out hospital at a heck of a rate!

All kids shout and holler about tidying their rooms, Saver-upper, but why can't they spend 10 minutes a day in keeping it straight - and keeping parents happy! Kids eh. Well done with the potting, and keep enjoying that lovely roomy house!

A nice bit saved, 12 month challenge, and good that you're enjoying the sun....

....you too 3tobe3, but by heck didn't it ever heat up afterwards! Good potting.

Hi, can I crawl back in please? I haven't managed to read any posts since page 125. Got a lot to catch up on. :o
I'm still potting as much as I can. There's £1.91 on the side to go in and I managed £22.35 the other week that I brought back off holiday. :)
I finally got around to claiming disability and, to my surprise, I've been awarded some.:D

I also banked £72 before we went away. Adding it to sig now.

You don't need to crawl in, Modesty, we do understand just how busy life gets. I hope you had a lovely holiday. Fantastic news on the disability claim going your way, good for you! It'll make life a lot easier for you I'm sure. Brilliant news on the £72 banked!

Thanks for putting your banked money on you siggie, Dragon Lily, an excellent sum!! Keep potting!

You're welcome Antomac, and I'm glad to hear you're not too hard on yourself when you're unable to save so much, just try to promise yourself you'll do better when you can.

Don't worry, Dizzy Imp, you're not alone in moaning about this awful heat, I honestly find it unbearable. :( Yes, we complain whatever the weather but then ours is dramatic in the speed at which it changes, winter one day summer the next - or it seems that way. Stay indoors and pot instead! :D

You got it, siju, you're a normal Mum for certain. Congratulations to your Son, all that hard work has paid off for him! :T Here's wishing him a wonderful time in America - and yes, you'll be missing him VERY soon now! :(

By eck things have been going slowly here, Saver-upper! A lot of members on holiday no doubt or have simply been enjoying the weather. Must admit to hubby and I being out a fair bit this week, though in THAT wicked heat, must be mad!

That was an excellent way to earn a nigh on free £30, mrsmoneypenny, marvellous work!!!! What a very strange event though, and didn't he lose out big time! There's such a thing as being too darned greedy as he now knows to his cost!!!

£20 in the pot from the last 2weeks for me.

There's been some more wonderful saving over the last week, everyone, keep potting well and you'll be doing so well by November.

Have a great Friday and a really FANTASTIC WEEKEND whatever you do, SPCers!!! Don't forget those pots!

    Sue xx

    £12 in £2s potted today.

Was saying to hubby earlier that normally I'd be opening the tin now for our holidays but I'm leaving it alone which, considering I never really budget for our holidays, and we have 2 booked - 2 weeks in June, 3 nights in August - is a bit worrying LOL I know it was sensible to pay back the overdraft, or at least the majority of it, but it does mean I used what holiday savings I had to do it, only got one more pay day before we go away, which in turn means the overdraft will probably take a hit while we're away. Oh well....

£30 in the pot today after selling the old table and chairs :D

That was my thinking too Sue, keep him focused on the books . . . but I REALLY want to go!!! :D This is what this years tin money is going toward, anything in the tin is the deposit :D:D:D Next years might have to be cracked early and be spending money, but I really hate the thought of not doing count up with everyone else . . . oooooo the dilema!

    £6 potted for this week,

Timing of this will be pretty much perfect as we're going to London at end of November to watch the Masters tennis so this should cover some of our expenses by the time it comes to empty the pot. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
Really looking forward to my Auntie and Uncle's joint 90th birthday party tonight. Love them to bits and looking forward to seeing the family at a nice event rather than at the usual family meetup at funerals, which is the only other time we all seem to manage to get together.

Same for my family, my Grandad has a party each year now, it will be his 92nd this year, and its good excuse to get all the family together in one place, mind you it has to be a big place as my dad is one of eight children, who all have on average four children each, who have on average two children of their own, a big range of ages, but good fun..
