A couple of days ago my DD,age 14,came home from school with a note for me to read and sign-I had recently paid for her to attend a school activity. The note was saying the activity turned out to be cheaper than school had expected,so there was £7.50 to be returned to me.Today I got the £7.50 back,so in the pot it is about to go :j.

Hi all Sealed Potters! Here's hoping the weekend will be a fantastic one, especially as they forecast great weather...for us all!!!! :j Until then we still have Friday to look forward to, especially as it's one more day to have to spend looking forward to the weekend! If that makes sense. Not many storms here...and no thunder and lightening displays. :( Still, at least the air is clearer. :D

Best wishes to all those of you who aren't well, or who aren't feeling great for one reason or another. Here are some {{{hugs}}} to help you get better soon. :grinheart

Very well done, parksandrec! You're staying regular - in a manner of speaking which just has to be good. :D You'll be really chuffed when November comes!

You chose the right two stars, Westie, you're growing in wisdom - much like me I'm sure you agree. :rotfl:

    £12 in £2s potted today.

Was saying to hubby earlier that normally I'd be opening the tin now for our holidays but I'm leaving it alone which, considering I never really budget for our holidays, and we have 2 booked - 2 weeks in June, 3 nights in August - is a bit worrying LOL I know it was sensible to pay back the overdraft, or at least the majority of it, but it does mean I used what holiday savings I had to do it, only got one more pay day before we go away, which in turn means the overdraft will probably take a hit while we're away. Oh well....

You are struggling with the overdraft, MrsShazbat, well, go carefully and you might just be ok. Though if you can include holidays in your budget from here on you'll be laughing. Keep cutting down where possible...looking forward to those holidays too! :D

The table and chairs may have been old, jakes-mum, but if you got £30 from the sale of them then whoppeeee!! :j I know you very much want to go to Disney land but patience woman patience!!!! :naughty: Next year will come soon enough, you'll see, and if needs be then yes, use your savings, though knowing you you'll have time to sell the kids before then!! :rotfl: Ah, forget that as if you do that there would be little point in going! :undecided See, I'm saving you a fortune here!!! :rotfl:

    £6 potted for this week,

Timing of this will be pretty much perfect as we're going to London at end of November to watch the Masters tennis so this should cover some of our expenses by the time it comes to empty the pot. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
Really looking forward to my Auntie and Uncle's joint 90th birthday party tonight. Love them to bits and looking forward to seeing the family at a nice event rather than at the usual family meetup at funerals, which is the only other time we all seem to manage to get together.

You've got something great to look forward to in November, Antomac. I see you did last Saturday too with your Auntie & Uncle's joint Birthday party. I hope it all went off well and you all had a brilliant time together. :D Isn't it wonderful that family members will travel such distances for such occasions!!

Hi all, just to announce the birth of my second great grandchild, a boy named Oliver! As you can tell, I am ridiculously excited! :j He was 6lb 8 oz and so dinky! My family has grown from 4 dc's to 9 dgc's and 2 dggc, with their partners it makes for expensive b'days and x time.

I couldn't manage any of this without my sealed pot....Sue-uu and all on this thread, thank you. :A

Yes, I'm still feeding my pot,and give it a surreptitious shake every now and then....exciting!
    Love to all, keep potting,
    Caz

Very many congratulations to you, Caz, on the birth of your darling Great Grandson!!!!!! :T:j:A I love the name Oliver, full or shortened names both sound good. Bet you've been a glutton with cuddles, and why not! :A I hope your Granddaughter is ok as well as her little treasure.
Well done Rosie for doing what comes naturally to most dogs, by golly that must have wreaked something awful!!!!!

Surreptitious shaking Caz??!!!!! Behave yourself!! :naughty:

Oh dear Helen, it doesn't seem as though you were having the best of days on Sunday so here's hoping you've been a whole lot better since. If not then I sincerely hope all's well by now. :D Don't forget....stay positive!! ;)BTW, I quite agree with you with the baby smell, aren't they just gorgeous! :A

You're saving excellently, siju!! Keep up the great work! BTW, are you missing him yet?!! ;)

A bit more potting done this weekend. Bought DS a paddling pool a couple of weeks ago so I didn't feel guilty about potting the cash for a couple of his toys that I sold!

I counted up last night that I have only got £35.61 to pot until I have completed the first penny savings challenge! Then I will be starting on round 2. Doubt I'll manage to complete it before opening date but I will give it a go!

Ah, who can blame you for selling your little treasures old toys when he's outgrown them, MrsC...tobe, makes far more sense.
Excellent saving and do your very best with the second filling of the pot!!!

Hi there, NeedToBeDebtFree, and great work with that saving!! Whoop whoop for certain!!! :D

Keep those small amounts flowing in, 12 month challenge, because as we all know....it all adds up!

Yay!! Well done for the cheaper school activity, Saver-upper, far better in the pot any day!!! ;)

It's so good to hear you've a weighty pot, Evo, very well done!!!!!

A whole £15 pound left over from shopping and - in the pot!!!!

Have a great Friday and a really FANTASTIC WEEKEND whatever you do, SPCers!!! Be mindful of those pots!

  • Hi everyone :)

Its been a while since I've managed to get on to the site. I've started saving in my pot again, the money will go towards my car rego and insurance due in August. I've also started getting serious about paying off my credit card so less is going in the pot.

I'm going to try and check in each week so that I stay motivated to save. Hopefully everyone is doing well.

I haven't been posting but I'm still steadily potting, putting in 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins at the end of each day, when I can afford it. And my lovely piggy bank is getting quite full. Yesterday was a bumper day - needed to pay for £9 parking at the station and I only had a £20 note so £11 in the pot!! Most weeks I might not be able to afford that, but this week has been a bit easier, money wise, so it was lovely to be able to pot it all.

Not yet Sue-UU, I haven't had the opportunity! We're having a new bathroom fitted and the house is in absolute chaos. DS's bedroom is full the the brim with all the things he brought back from uni and dumped!!!!! It'll be my job to sort it all out before he comes home in October He'd better bring me something nice back :rotfl:

Haven't potted anything because I've been stuck in the house with the bathroom fitter. Having said that, he found a £1.00 coin in with the tiles and gave that to me - I'm claiming it as bathkill for my pot

    Evening folks

Congratulations grandmasam - it's lovely to hear good news

Potted my weekly £10 today. Had some fantastic news - our car went straight through the MOT first time :T so that's a great relief. We now have the money to get two new tyres, needed shortly.

Hope you all have a super weekend and hopefully some sunshine
