  • Thanks for the idea Sue :) a 50/50 split is a good way of doing it as it means I'm still be saving towards things I'll need later on.
Unfortunately I had a couple of months without income so the credit card was a life line that is now going down slowly. Luckily the puppy has decided to join the movement and not done anything dangerous in months...

    Hi,

I've been using sealed pots for years, but break into them for "emergencies". I'm going to be disciplined now, and save what i can until the 3rd November 2016. Can I please have a number so that I can join the group?

    Thanks,

    Keedie xx

Hi Keedie and welcome To the SPC challenge  Sue our fearless leader will appear at some point to give you your very own one of a kind number to love and cherish. She will ask you to pop it on your signature for all to see and should you bank any money during the challenge you can pop the amount right next to it so it doesnt get forgotten come count up day.

She will also ask that you read the very informative 1st post which gives lots of very important information like what can be included (unfortunately we cant include inheritance for instance, so if I find I have a long lost relative who decided to leave me millions i'm not allowed to pot it :( BUT should I get all 6 numbers on the Lotto I CAN include that :D :j :D )

Anyway, obtain yourself a pot, we dont care what it is, one from £ land, an old coffee jar . . whatever, just make sure its sealed :D

Enjoy potting and any questions feel free to ask and someone on here will pop up with an answer :D

Keedie - your No is 137, please treat it with love as someone left it all alone in a previous life. :(

A nice gold star for you, jakes-mum, for a perfect welcome! :staradmin Thanks so much. Great saving by the way

Hello all SPCers! :hello: Here's hoping you all have a really lovely weekend in doing the things you love most. Yes, collecting coins for your pot is one but there has to be others! :D

Potted the princely sum of £4 last week. Been preoccupied with trying to sort out other not very nice stuff so forgot to update at end of last week.
This thread has been good though to get me, and I'm sure many others, into the habit of saving amounts that would otherwise disappear. Thanks Sue-UU for sorting out this challenge.

You're very welcome, AntoMac, it's a great place to be, and to becove avid savers. :) Not busy now, it never is in summer but things will pick up big time come the end of the summer. Very well done with saving a really good amount. I hope you soon get past the other not so nice things in your life soon!:D

A warm welcome home, Chutney, I hope you had an amazing holiday, sadly work always brings us back to harsh realities of life, you'll soon settle down.

Thank you very much, siju, DD is still uncomfortable but she's off the AVs now so hopefully she'll soon be a lot better. She starts her new MS medication in August but for that she needs monitoring in hospital. One day, I hope!
I'm pleased you've got your bathroom back to normal, worth it though I'm sure. Oh, so you gave him a £9 tip then! :rotfl: Don't worry I do recall that it was my daft humour that brough that about. :D With regards to your latest post: Who knows!! Rock and a hard place spring to mind

Good to see you, chickadee! How good you are in keeping that saving going so well.
Thanks for the idea Sue :) a 50/50 split is a good way of doing it as it means I'm still be saving towards things I'll need later on.

Ah, I think we all use the CCs in times when things are hard, TheCatsandDogsMother, keep a check on your expenditures and you'll get to where you need to be. ;)

Crikey  what a short post for your, Saver-upper, though I'm not complaining mind.....it's just so unusual!! :rotfl: Well done with the saving, though don't get hoarding too many of those £2ers or there won't be anough for me!! :(

Good potting, MrsShazbat! When are you going on holiday?? Can't be long now.

Hello there TheDapster, a good idea to bank it rather than leaving you concrened. Thanks for popping it on your siggie. I hope all's going well with you.

I hope you're all having a LOVELY WEEKEND, Potters!!!Feed those pots well!
